Lawson Products sells bolts with the proper smaller hex head size for Japanese Automobiles. They do have minimum quantity requirements, but these are common size bolts throughout your Z car. I'm sure you could find places to use the few extras.

There is also a fan clutch that came on the 70-71 model 240Z's with a metal fan blade assembly. Sorry, I don't have a pic of it, but it won't work with the plastic fan blade assemblies.

Hi Mike! Yeah, it has been taking a helluva long time for them to get it on-line. Can't imagine why it takes so long. I know there are a lot of parts, but geez they are taking their sweet time about it. Interesting how some parts prices have remained essentially stable, others have risen 20%, and others risen 50% or more in the last few years.

More like $80+ s/h in the MSA catalog printed in 2001 (if it is still available in 2004)

Shouldn't have anything to do with it. 73 240Z's used the same engine block, same motor mounts, same water pump, same fan assembly, and radiator as 72's. It *could* be that the car was in a front end accident at some point in time before you owned it, and the radiator support was not placed "exactly" where it belongs. If seen more than a few cars where; after a body repair, the radiator support placement causes the radiator to sit closer to the fan than it did before the damage.

If you are offering to post pics, that would help diagnose. If you are asking for pics, answer is No.
  8. What did you cook it with? .........a match?

Possible causes: Loose clamp where the filler tube connects to the fuel tank, or hole in the filler tube Rotted fuel line connecting the tank to the hard lines, or the hard lines to the fuel pump Rotted Fuel vent lines between the Vapor Recovery tank and the Fuel tank Rotted/crack lines from fuel rail to the carbs Cracked solder connection where the fuel feed and fuel return fittings enter/exit the Fuel tank Hole or crack in the Fuel tank itself [/list=1] Where is the "pool" of fuel that you mentioned? Front or Rear of car? Right or Left side?

Could also be the water pump shaft bearing that failed. Fifteen minutes, and the temp guage pegged is NOT a good sign. No way to tell over the internet, but there *could be* serious damage to the head gasket, etc. That is LONG time for excess heat to exist in the engine. Normal warm up with a properly operating thermostat is about 5 minutes or less. That leaves 10 minutes of temps rising out of the normal operating range. With a bit of investigating (as Stephen described wiggling the fan assembly and visual check) you should be able to determine the area of failure that allowed the fan to move out of position. Resolve that matter and *briefly* try to start and run the engine, If it doesn't sound right or look to be running properly, STOP. As to fixing this on your own, well; that depends on how much time and skill you have and the extent of the damage.
  11. A lot of us posted long ago, but the "Bravenet" site that hosts the map only allows 50 "pins" on the map. when #51 is put on the #1 "pin" disappears, when #52 is put on #2 drops off, etc. IMHO though fun for a few people for a little while, it is useless for a club like ours w/ 5K members.

Hi Victor: I've been having a bit of a similar issue on my car. Unfortunately I cannot isolate the cause or location either. Adjusted the valves twice, used a stethoscope too. For my car I'm now leanig towards a slight warp to the used exhasut manifold that I bought for the rebuilt engine being the cause. When it warms up, I'm gonna switch back to my original ex. manifold & see if the noise goes away. Do you have any broken/loose manifold studs on the engine?
  13. Hi Rick: Chloe (mwz), Jeff (Seerex) Ben (V12Horse), Dave (V8-240Z), are a few of the names that come to mind. Sure would like to see a few more female faces but I don't know of any more female members.

I understand. Yeah, you are close to where I live (which Mission exit? one by Ohlone, or the Warm Springs/Mission exit?). When I get my car running right again, I'll be more interested in doing something. Of course I work a funky schedule, so who knows how that would fit into other members schedule. Hopefully within a few months my car will be running like I want it to (again). Even though we have mild ones in CA, I HATE WINTER!!!
  15. Turtle necks.................... in the FLA humidity? Man, that is :stupid: , of course Leisure suits in any circumstance is/was also :stupid: and we had plenty of them in CA. I had one, the (now) ex-wife forced me into wearing it twice.

I saw the episode and noticed the shirts, but thought they were a joke thing related to his ancester the Original Jesse James. Money Laundering, hummmm interesting. Usually that sort of thing is related to the drug trade in one way or another.

Jeff: I didn't know Jesse had been arrested. Was was it about? Drugs, Alcohol, Violence...............?

Ben: The MSA show is a completely separate different show from the National Z car Convention. Both will be in LA this year but at different times. MSA Z Car Nationals is held April 23-25th at the MSA store in Orange, CA The Z Car National Convention presented by GroupZ is held June 14-19th with the car show held at Nissan Headquarters in Gardena on the 19th.

What I have seen at Union Landing in Union City is your typical standard "Fast & Furious" Ricers hanging out. No Z's!

Probably still alive. Hopefully he's not still Stupid!
  21. I'm not doubting your statements, but HOW would the bureaucrats at the DMV ever know it was repainted if it was a good and proper restoration? If I wanted a nice plate, I'd have mine done and would not say anything to anybody (official that is). Let'em try to PROVE it was repainted. I think some club member from CA mentioned a few weeks ago that they or a friend of theirs had a plate restored. Maybe it was Victor Laury? I dunno for sure.

Using Google, all you need to enter is "Rebello Racing"
  23. Bambikiller240 posted a post in a topic in Engine & Drivetrain
When in doubt, try a Google search on "Rebello Racing" Dave's Monster Z Motor Garage

Some of them they keep around, cause I've seen them scavange parts and pieces to built other project cars when needed. Between American Chopper and Monster Garage, you are missing an amusing way to spend Monday evenings. Of course, you probably get more work done on your car than I do on Mondays.
