Abolishment of the 15 year rule
I find it very hard to find all the bits i need including loom, computer, distributor, intake manifold, exhaust manifold etc... often if i see this stuff on ebay it's seperate and each item goes for too much money once converted to AUD$. I thought about a half cut but under the 15 year law it prob works out cheaper to import the whole car. Also buyign a whole car would probably be cheaper than the sum of it's parts. The other good factor is that a 2 seater S130 was never released here and I figured I'd sell the shell once i've molested it for it's good bits to someone who wants to have a 2 seater ZX for something a bit different. However as you can see it's not a simple process and hence the reason i've gone the stroker route. It might be more economical and rewarding to go an RB motor later if i'm not happy with the power in my Z .

Sitting in the garage for 24 years
Yes good points also check under the battery I only hope the battery wasnt left in there all those years ago. Who knows what the last 25+ years would have done to the inner fender otherwise

JDM grill on EBay no reserve
Yeah i don't think they look ugly but they do have a certain frail look to them. Looks like an item you'd wanna be delicate with, im also told the original paint doesn't stay on the best. Anyway ill keep watching the Auction!

Ok, here is the poll!
Good way to stir the pot there Mr C . However for the US HLS30 cars would have to have the original 4 speed to be considered stock! Its like what Alan T once told me and I must agree and it applies with any car. I could bolt all the authentic ZG parts for my HS30 hoping to transform it into a HS30-H but at the end of the day it's still just a Australian Delivered HS30 but a HS30-H replica.

JDM grill on EBay no reserve
How can you tell? I'm only considering it if the Price is right. I kinda prefer the Australian one anyway after what Kats was saying Mr Matsuo said about the exported grille being the one he originally wanted etc..

Tell you what Rick I know a guy who has some Zed spares I'll ask him for you. However I wouldn't count on it but we will see. What price range are you looking at? They are pretty hard to find to be honest.

Oh and use non Synthetic oil as I'll bet that was what was being used in the car last time it ran. A friend and I had recently tried to get a Z running that hadn't run in years. The motor had actually siezed up.

Looks good Jim at viczcar we are trying to put together another video of a run we had earlier in the year. IN the video you can hear all the Z's but you can tell my Z has a distinctively different note .

Haha now Mickie don't be too harsh. Australians have made some very good cars, however I've always felt the Japanese cars have been technologicially more advanced. For instance the Red Motor found in the old VB VC commodores and the early Torana's was a 3.3ltr motor pushrod . in XU1 GTR form with the 3 strombergs it made 160HP. Now compare that to the 2.4ltr 240z with twin Su's and 150HP. Hmmmm 1 extra carb and 3.3ltr vs 2.4 and only 10HP? Yes i think the Japanese had the L motor sorted . For it's day the Z was unreal and far ahead of most Australian cars. These days though you gotta hand it to FORD and HOLDEN they have produced some very exceptional cars here. Take the Monaro which has been exported for the US market that's quite an achievement if you ask me.
