280zx dizzy
I wouldn't just slap one on from a JY, many of those are just worn out. A ZX Dizzy with shaft play is worse than a good points dizzy. Mine was built by Gary Boone, who builds EI dizzys for the roadsters and Z's. Not only is it rebuilt, he also tailors the advance curve. Dude you bought a switch, not a sender. It swings full right on startup because you have no pressure (switch is closed), then full left while running beacuse you do have pressure (switch is open)

I ALWAYS use an "Oil Change" service place. I hate home oil changes. BUT, (1) I sit on them during the entire service. I watch every plug removed and installed, every zerk fitting greased (2) I bring my own filters and my own fluids (like Redline tranny and Diffy juice) (3) If they give me any of that "Sit in the Waiting room" Crap, I leave.

SR20E roadster enginebay
Alvin's SR20 powered 67.5 SPL. Winner of top honors in Modified Class, this year's Solvang Show. One of only a couple with fully operational varible valve timing motors. Not an easy swap at all, yet this one is very sanitary and developed.

OT: What I've been up to
There! Back to Faye Valentine. Misunderstand her and she'll shoot ya. Nate, My sister and family love to take their 32 foot Sea Ray out and about in your patch of sea. I feel better about their "Jaunts to Bimini" knowing you guys are out there. Never too sure about those twin Mercs. High performance, but tempermental. Hate to think of my two nephews adrift in the gulf stream.

I think the Opel stacked up better than I would have guessed. I must admit more respect is due. The Z blew them all away in the 0 ~60 by a wide margin.

Thank you very much for the Mundane crap you guys do, like saving lives. When the sea turns deadly, The Coast Guard throws themselves into harm's way to save your life. Nothing better than their mundane crap, when they pluck you out of the sea or off a burning boat.

Need Help with Clutch Adjustment
It maybe clutch change time, however, here's what I do. I remove the spring, and see if there is any free play in the fork. If the adjuster is too tight (too far out), there will be no free play and that can cause your clutch to slip. The adjuster itself is depressing the clutch, partially disengaging it. If the adjuster is too loose (too far in), there will be lots (more than 5 mm) of free play and your clutch will not fully disengage. That's often the trouble when people complain of gear grinding when shifting into first or reverse at idle. Remove the spring and adjust the free play to about 2mm (just bareley any movement at all). If that what you have now, and it still slipping, time for a new clutch.

OT- Roadster Steering Wheel
Allen, That is the Flat 4 Replica. I wanted an Empi wheel. Seeing that they are eBaying for over a thousand dollars, I found an alternative. Bought it over the phone from a VW shop in Carson, CA., VWISPWest http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=171314 They shipped it with the VW hub, Which did'nt do me much good, but I wanted the horn Bezel. I bought the Grant hub adapter from Summit Racing. I was aprehensive that it would push the wheel out too much. No worries, It is now precisly where the stock wheel was located. I also needed to buy 3, 1/4'', fine pitch, Allen drive bolts to replace the metric ones that came with the VW kit.

Thanks Jim! That is the very knob I have. Did you find this ad on the Web? I don't think I've seen this one before. It's a 1966 Ad, and I beleive the others wer for the later, high windsheild models.

Turned out, I didn't need to "Roll My own" Hub. The Grant hub from Summit Racing work perfectly.
