As a one-time proud restorer of a 1967 Camaro, I'd beg to differ. One point I do agree with. And the reason why the Z would always win me over.

It WAS a C110 Skyline.... at one time... Dam! That is just wrong! Oh well, it IS the owner's car, I guess. And free expression should be protected... I guess. It just that.. Well... so many of us would have respected this car a bit more if it had been stock or a vintage performance piece, instead of a piece of .... the owner's ideal automotive artistic statement.
  5. So I bought this 71 Datsun Truck 3 weeks ago and I've been driving it every day to sort it out. Yesterday I parked it in preparation to pull the engine/tranny to swap out the transmission and do a little engine compartment cleaning/painting. So I started the Z.... WOW! the shift throw is so short! Oh My God! What brakes! I nearly threw myself out the windscreen! If you forget the Z is a Sports car. Drive a non sports car with 4 wheel drums and steers like a truck for a couple of weeks, then go back to your Z!
  6. I fell in love with a GTC. (late 60's convertable bertone). I found out 15 years later that they only made 500 of them and I'd never afford one.
  7. Crack pipe?
  8. Les Cannaday told me he would have some made, but it never really came about. I guess I didn't bug him enough about it. I geuss he sells alot more Nissan turquise engine color to bother with another color he'd sell two cans a year of.
  9. Duplicolor Engine Enamel Ponitac Blue DE1610 is so freaken close. the original has just the slightest more touch of green. But you'd have to have them next to each other to see it.
  10. Try a little more inital advance
  11. I bought a furniture plug from the hardware store, I swear it looks like it belongs there!

  13. Simi Valley Eh? If we ever plan a run to Ojai or the Ventura/Santa B coast, we'll have to pick you up on the way out!
  14. Please, Don't want to delete any more threads today... BTW It's a "Soft Delete" on the other one. Mike, on his decision, might put it back up.
  15. Glad you worked it out, those are great photos Pete.

I love these Sunny pickups, But I DO Not FIT in one. These were sold as Left hand drives in Central and South America. Not in the states. One of my Datsun vendors has a 78 from Guatamala. Very neat LITTLE Truck. Speakin off topic about little Datsun Trucks, I bought this 71 521 last saturday. It's very Getto at the momment, but I'm cleaning her up day by day.
  17. Yea, mostly. The 2 liter roadster carb butterflys rotate the opposite direction. They were all four screw domes. Some had the attached plastic float and some had the loose metal float, and that was not dependent on year. Once again Nissan using up what they had on hand. The roadster SU uses a shorter metering needle with a heavier piston spring.

Tim's pics are up - check his gallery. Nice car. Welcome to the funny farm. Working on your Z will be the best therapy.
  19. No that's Kenny G, ya kook!
  20. Welcome Andrew! be sure to upload some photos of your 73. Are you sure she doesn't act crazy because of the loose nut behind the wheel? That's a VERY common malfunction around here. I know it is with my Datsun sports cars!
  21. They are oddballs! they are in the 13'' category. Could they really be 13 X 15 inches wide!!?!?!?

  23. On the blocks just like you have been doing, but this time heat the rotors with a torch. then hit the hub. Use a block of wood between the hub and hammer to keep from marring it. Heat + PB Blaster + BFH = success

  25. If he gave him the same set-up as mine, He'll have a glasspack center with a turbo resonator. Well, I did the 2.5 pipes and it looks like Saro got the 2.25, but that can't make too much difference - Right?
