Picked up a copy of GT 4 "prologue" form a second hand shop (still waiting for my copy of GT4 to arrive from ebay). In Arcade mode, the first car you can drive is the Fairlady 240ZG. Gave it a spin around the New York track. Also was in Timezone in Northbridge (Perth WA) and they had a nex game in. Maximium Tune 2, a follow on form the midnight series of games (wangan midnight) that feature the blue 240z. Anyway, the demo video that's displayed while the game's not being played features the blue 240z, close ups and drifting. Very cool to see it featured.

  4. There was a sedan for sale over this end of the country too. not on ebay though.
  5. They would have to be very thin spacers, like 0mm to retain the correct offset.
  6. I guess its like comparing a porsche 911 to a 924. One is a sports car, the other is a sporty car. If you dont mind the way the 280zx looks then get one, The 2 seaters look ok, but i prefer the S30 series.

  8. We only got driver side door mirrors as far as i'm aware. Can you rotate the mirror 180 degrees and stick it on the other side?

  10. Last of the MG's...... till some car manufacturer buys the rights to the name and starts bringing out cars in the future, like mercedes did with the mini........

I made one up out of a flat piece of metal using a file, for a spare years ago.

  18. Doesn't the bank have some say in what sort of car you buy? Meaning you just cant take the cash and build a project car with it. If you default on the load, the bank cant do much with a 2+2 shell and a bunch of engine parts. $15K could buy you a nice turbo skyline or Z32

My old 240z (which i sold in 1991) had the exact same antenna key.

$1000 to replace a head stud seems pretty steep.
  21. Yeah you are confused, no one is advising that you should replace the struts to give the back end a lift, simply stating (if somewhat sarcastically) that if you put 260Z 2+2 struts in a 240, then thats what will happen.
  22. Yeah the strut assembly is swapable, if you are intending to go off road rallying and need the extra ground clearance. as i said in another thread: The tops are longer, the bottom perch is in a different position and they have more travel. they are about and inch to 1 1/2" longer that the 2 seater. If you put them on the 2 seater you will end up with the "Rally look". There was a good photo of someone that put 2+2 rears on there 2 seater, been searching, but I cant find it. The back of the car had huge gap between the top of the rear wheel and the wheel arch. (maybe between 3 to 5 inches difference). Just to clarify: you cant use the strut cartridge inserts from a 260 in a 240, or vice versa. bits you can use: front crossmenber (has more reinforcing that a 240 cross member around the mounting bolt holes where it bolts to the chassis). front pivot arms, tc rods (i think), steering arms (though the diameter of the tie rod end hole may be different), steering rack (240 aparently has plastic parts in them, the 260z has metal). sway bar. All the pannels from the windshield forward. windshield.
  23. Like your 240c huh Aaron? Just seems that way. Lots of them are being driven, when a z is working, there's not much point being here talking about them. Speaking of 240C's I think I know where one seems to have been abandond. it's either a 240/260 or 280C and it doesnt look to have moved in months. Its parked around the side of the petrol station.

Think it might be a skyline head.
  25. It may be possible to use your old drive shaft with the turbo driveshaft gearbox end bit thingy. or i guess the diff end. with the normal drive shaft flange. If you pull the uni joints apart and swap the parts over. Just a thought, dont even know if its possible.. Some advice from someone more technical on the subject might help, so people jump on in...
