Ah so you can tell me if the {EDIT _______ EDIT} really has "we use spartan air" written on the stock mag wheels. What colour is it? A silver {EDIT} used to live around the corner from a friend of mine in woodlands.

Yep there were 2 imperial standards. SAE and Whitworth. My dad's and ex mechanic from england, so i have access to all sorts sockets and spanners. I think some imperial bolts were used on zeds on componants that were licenced copies of other designs. I dont remember what exactly, maybe brake calipers or carbies. I think I read it in an Alan post so it must be true.

Yeah i've seen darius's 240z in the videos that are on the net. I think chrome would look better that silver paint.

I thing it's the dumbest thing i've ever seen on any website anywhere. It pops up an explorer window that switches to full screen mode (press F11 to make it go back into a window). The window can only be killed with task manager. Try explaining to your boss why some blank spreadsheet wont go away. He just gonna take one look at an empty spreadsheet and say "Hmm haven't done much work today have we" I remember Old games uses to have boss keys (alt which paused the game and displyed some business type speradsheet, but at least they worked and went away when you wanted them to.
  7. looks like a cobra with a mg grill. So was this supposed to be an MGA ?

Wow Zeds just keep getting heavier according to the the licencing departments. Any advance on 1160 kilos? So where did they get the extra 100 kilos from? Figured you would install 100 kilos of subwoofers, speakers and Amps? interesting link to the z weights. Z432R : 950 KG!

I was thinking painting my car black, and considering getting those pannels chromed. Wonder what it would look like.
  11. Sure the guy had bad taste putting that kit on a Z, but He isn't responsible for creating the kit in the firstplace. That dubious honour belongs to a someone else. They have a really bad website, with all sorts of abomonations they call body kits for 240Z's. I'll spare you the horror linking to their website. Too many fragile minds here that will have nightmares about people fitting ugly bodykits to their zed while they sleep. look for it on google at your own risk. You have been warned.

Heres what your gauges look like on the inside, and the reason they are green at night. Putting coloured globes in wont have any effect unless you remove the green lense thing. Why, because it only lets green light through.
  13. Plymouth Sapporo.? A.K.A. Mitzubishi Scorpion.

There was a whole discussion about this a year ago. Someone was trying to get together 100 or 200 orders so they would actually produce a run of indiglo gauges for the 240z. search for indiglo gauges and you should find the thread(s).

I'm going the badge option, and had my brother pick up a full set while in America. I guess they are still available new in OZ aren't they?

Original 240z gauges have a green plastic "lense" (for want of a better term) inside the gauge, which the bulb holder sits in so the light shines through it, to give it the green light. Also the inside of the gauge casing is painted lime green. You could remove the green plastic cap, and you could also paint the gauge housing white. I have photos of a dissassembled gauge, but not on this computer. You could get coloured cellophane (use the stuff that they use for thearer lights) the other stuff might melt. I put ordinary green cellophane in the dome light of a car I had, which gave an eery green glow, but wasnt as bright as the normal light.
  17. Fender Mount mirrors are illegal in WA. All the 80's model imports we got in the late mid 80's had to have their fender mount mirrors removed before they were allowed to be licenced in WA. Some had eletric fender mirrors that were swapped for cheap supermarket plastic mirrors, because the importers didnt want the expense of rewiring the wires to the door. Reason they are illegal is because they are a danger to pedestrians if you run them over. If you have an old car you might be able to get away with it depending on what rules your char has to comply with.
  18. Actually I like the standard mirrors. They look pretty good polished up.

I used black vinyl dye/paint on my old 240z (it was originally metallic Green with tan interior) on all the vinyl parts and it turned out great. I think i even used it on the plastic interior pannels also.
  20. I like the mirrors Simon DeGroot has on his yellow 240z, and would like to know what they are and where he got them so i can get some for my 240.

I have a Dunlop original spare. Made in Japan. Mine is a 72 240z. Pictures on page 3 of my gallery.
  22. I wouldn't waste my time on a 2+2 if id hadn't run for years.
  23. Aside form body rust, a car that has been standing for a long period of time can have other problems like: perished rubber hoses that split open when you finally get the engine running. siezed brakes, corroded brake lines, rusty drums and/or rotors, an perished flexible hoses. rusty fuel tank (on the inside that gets into the gas, then the carbs) flat spotted wheel bearings sometimes the bores can corrode.
  24. I had problems with my headlight switch. 2 problems actually. 1st was the solder joint had seperated from the wire that was supposed to be attached to it. 2nd was that the plastic lug inside the swith had worn out, so the contact was not touching the other contact to close the circuit. I got sidelights, but no headlights. I resoldered the wire, and made a new lug out of plastic. Use a test lamp or multimeter to check the switch. Bulbs wont die at the same time? It happend to me in my celica. I had to drive home with high beam on. Check everything it could be systematically, dont rule out the improbable.
