  1. Well, I had a look under my car but Im not quite sure what to look for :stupid: How hidden is teh bar?
  2. They dont call him the 2 minute man for nothing!
  3. As some of you will be aware, there are 25 Rear Sway Bars for sale from this guy: http://www.240z.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3516&highlight=sway+bar : Anyway, seeing as theyre being sold for $140 off retail price, I was just wondering how effective they are? Did 240Zs come with sway bars standard??? How much improvement can I expect with a rear sway bar but no front one? Do front sway bars cost much more/less than rear ones? Thanks for your time Ive seen some old posts about teh same topic, but I am still unclear.
  4. If you ask Mike really nicely he might be able to do it for you
  5. Maybe youre looking in the wrong places ? From what I've found on the net, "PASSIER Lederbalsam is a tried and tested leather dressing that restores and preserves fine saddlery. Lederbalsam protects the leather against moisture and keeps it soft. Thus it prolongs the life of leather good sconsiderably. All saddles will show a certain wear abraison of colour. Complaints concerning this matter can only be accepted when using PASSIER saddle soap and PASSIER Lederbalsam. " :-/ Is this what you're talking about Son_of_Z ? Maybe go look in a saddle shop guy_geo !!
  6. My name came from back when I was 10 or 11... my brother was always called "Effa", which meant "E - for - Elliott" by people at school. The name was invented by the headmaster. Anyway, I needed a name as I was starting out on the net so I figured since my name starts with L I'd be "Elfa". Since my dad was into Alfa's at the time (had a 164 and a lovely black Spider Veloce) I thought why not Alfa? So I was Alfa for a while. Then I played Need For Speed (number 1!) one day and when looking at the high scores I saw one of the entries called "Alfadog". I quickly stole the name and my brother could never beat "my" record for that track hehehehhehee So there you go.
  7. Cool thanks I'll try that

I saw in a book 920kg :-| Who knows teh correct weight !?
  9. Mmmm I see.. so they wont fit on *normal* wheels (ie what I've got - see my gallery)
  10. Mmmm yes I'm very interested! Although, I'm not sure how hub caps are fitted to a car? Sorry if that sounds like a terribly stupid question ... will I need to buy a new set of wheels to fit them on? What diameter are they?
  11. I live in Australia - can you give me a figure of how much it would cost to ship it over here ?
  12. Maybe remove the Datsun too, as it looks weird how it is now :-/
  13. Interested, but ask the same questions as Guycali... Pictures ???
  14. ok i'll reword it "Agreed, and I'm a young'un !!!! " Happy?
  15. Agreed, and I'm not even old !!!! If I wanted to go sticking plastic all over my car, I'd buy a civic. WIth a Z, not only do I get a classic car that is considered one of the most influential cars of all time, but I also get a car which will APPRECIATE ! :D

So then HS30, is it possible that my car is "correct" in having no rear hatch vents but still having the hand throttle? I'm number 1031 btw - mid 1971 ?

I'm first! Looks like we have a VERY diverse range of ages here... hopefully as more people vote we'll get to see which age group the majority of people are in.
  18. Zed yeah I bet that's teh best of both worlds And datzun76 no cos your car aint stock
  19. Definitely. A nice look would be without any bumper I think. However then if you get hit from behind like you said you do have quite a large problem ...
  20. Yeah the 280Z wasnt ever in Aus, it was the same body (with some big fat ugly bumpers to compensate for increasingly harsh crash testing standards) but with a 2.8 - same engine as teh 280zx I think... but I've given up arguing with datzun76 - I'll just be content in believing what I believe and besides, they're ALL Z's and thats what really matters.
  21. 240Z Weight: 2355Lbs 280Z Weight: 2875Lbs They're stats.
  22. bollocks to that Look at teh figures Zed posted. Yes, a 240z beats a 280zx, as does a 280z. Of course weight changes if you change the parts on a car. :stupid: If you're trying to prove that a modified 280z can beat a stock 240z then of bloody course .......... a modified civic can beat a ferrari. So what?
  23. It's hard to believe I know, but I've never seen any performance figures which haven't reiterrated what Zed said... Will a MACK truck accelerate faster than a Lotus Elise ? No of course not. It's not just about HP. It's to do with weight also. A Westfield has 151 BHP like a Z. It goes like bloody stink though - 0-100kmph in just 5.4 seconds.
  24. datsun76 just accept that your car is slower than a car 6 years older than it ....
