  1. When I was in England early this year petrol was at about 74 pence a litre - seeing as we have all decided to convert it into American bucks and gallons that equates to about $5.41 a gallon. Beat that!!! Here on the Gold Coast we're hovering just above 90c a litre, the same as biker.

  3. I dont think so Rick! I think the guy who ordered all 50 high-spec performance and luxury cars to be stolen already had a garage full of Z's!!! Have you seen the movie? It's a pretty decent movie just to watch all the nice carssss... too bad the XJ220 appeared on screen for no more than 3 seconds!

Oh, I see. I thought it looked like an L24 but you said it was a trick bit of kit so I immediately thought it was just some backyard jobbie with the average L28 swapped in, as it is kinda poor condition. If it's a real race car from way back, then it explains everything, and the reasonably average condition is quite excusable!!!!!!! Any more pics of the outside / inside?

Cool! I personally don't like red on the car, but hey. What's he got under there? L28?

Good idea - would be easier for all of us!
  9. Ah, glad it's not just me who can't see those forums then. This club is *very* good if you have a Z. The blokes here can help you with just about any problem you might run into!!! Extractors should fit the head perfectly...
  10. Depends what model 240K I imagine, but if this is anything to go from, they wont fit!! I was looking at a set of extractors and this is what the owner had to say about them: "I really cannot supply much of the info you require as I bought the extractors at a swap day. However they do have 89 skyline written on them and they do line up with L24 head ports as I have an L24 in one of my Z cars.Due to their shape they will not fit on a Z car due to contact with the chassis rail and Z extractors are made differently to fit.(I now have a set of Z extractors so I can verify this!!)" Take from that what you will... but don't blame me if they DO fit! btw welcome to *my* club datto-zed

Why not the Z Workshop? They'd be able to get them in if they dont have any in stock I'm sure. Look in the yellow pages for their number sorry I dont have it with me.

How doesthe saying go? "Just after I fix this problem, she'll be sweet!" If a whiny diff is your only problem, your Z is great!

Well, looks like I've got a bit of investigating to do. STRANGE thing I have come across just now : "Similar to its predecessor from 1969, the GT-R was available as a coupe (KPGC110) and a 4-door sedan (PGC110)." Four door GT-R's for the C110 ?????? source: http://www.skyline-nissan.com/skyline_history.htm

Ah, the seats sound interesting. Were they bucket like the attachment or pretty normal looking like the ones in My Gallery? Or somewhere in between?

SJCurtis you might be able to tell me what the differences are between GL, GT and GTX-2000 (even though we didnt get the last one)???

Oh no I wasn't thinking of the "normal" 2+2 badge. I was thinking of a one off design... that's all I can come up with for an explaination... My guess is as good as any! The model was designated ZGRS30? Interesting... If this car still exists it would help you a lot I'm sure!

Like the 2+2 Concept, the Z432's came with little badges above the Fairlady Z badge too. Although I think that this badge is different, it may give us a clue. The little badge symbolises the *type* of Fairlady it is. I'm beginning to believe it was probably a 2+2 badge, which was deleted from the car for production. I'm afraid you might have to research this one a bit ZedRally!!!
  20. I guess I was just feeling hopeful because MAYBE the new Z would be something different! Something *real* Z fans would buy. Obviously just an upgrade for 300ZX drivers...

I don't know how 240Z's are known to be chick cars or homosexual cars.... I think the poll Mike conducted here showing the sex for all members proves the first point. Perhaps we need a sexual orientation poll??? ROFL When the Z came out all the reviews said it was a very manly car. Everything is heavy and has a certain macho-ness about it. How the public perception has changed it into a "chick's car" I don't understand! Maybe they should drive one and then see. They're not exactly easy to drive. Personally I've never heard the idea that the Z was a feminine car. Must be different way over there in Perth...
  23. I'd take part in this thread if everyone didn't write so much!! Shows everyone has a lot to say about the subject, which is natural. I just don't like posting on topics which I haven't been following. That and I'm the first to admit I'm not the most up to date in the world of politics.
  24. It's ok, everyone makes mistakes. Just some seem to make a hobby out of it. NOTE: Not directed at you bambikiller, I have to admit it took me quite a while to get what he was talking about too... different wavelength!

For sure. The 1600s/1200s and all the "little" cars are based on boxy economy cars and get their "cool" factor because they're old, cheap and look pretty good. I don't think the 1600's rally cred plays an important part in most 1600 owners' decision to buy the car. But who am I to judge? Most of the enthusiasts with these cars chuck in bigger engines, and I'm sure you know this. Go to any local newsagency and chances are half of the "Rice-burner" magazines have at least one 1600 with an FJ20 motor in it. Z's are much rarer, and more expensive (I'm talking classic Z's here). I'm guessing because the Z is more of a classic car, enthusiasts who like the car for what it is are more prominantly seen with these. Of course there are lots of hoons who stick big engines in them (*cough*cuong*cough*) to be cool, but I think most owners realise the car's status in the whole scheme of things. I'm assuming a larger portion of 1600 owners don't really care about the car's history, but I only base that on the number of these cars I see that are butchered. I've had one 1600 owner look inquisitively as he drove by, and as we exchanged thumbs-up it changed my whole perception of 1600 drivers. Maybe they aren't all ignorant fools after all? You owned a 240K coupe, SJCurtis? Have you got any info/stories/parts/anything at all I might find useful? Give me an email if you do! alfadog@bigpond.net.au I'm really enjoying owning something unique as this. They're not bad cars either
