it took awhile but i finally got it. there is one other peculiarity not so obvious.

the jetta is not tdi. just regular gas. get 33mph city (rural) not as good as the honda. pretty reliable. so far only complaint is cost of exhaust replacement. cat replace last fall for $1000 then the the resonator went. had to replace everything from the cat back because it came in one piece. that was $650. of course labour is included with these prices.

well, new to me. 2009 exl honda civic coup. 100k kilometers. great on gas. i really like it. hope it'll be a good car with no problems.

gas went up to $1.38 litre. that works out to $6.21 a gallon or $5.24 U S gallon. our gallon is .8 litres larger. one station puts up their price and all others follow suit. no collusion there. doh.:mad:

2 inches of snow overnite. possible record low tonite.

started up the 240 today. took a bit of pumping the gas. sputtered a while till it warmed up then ran smooth. no jump needed, just have to put some air in the tires.

would Canada ever be considered? ( Toronto area)

just waiting for a couple of good rains to wash off road salt and I'm ready to go!!! she's been hibernating since just after nov 11th. got the wife's mustang going today, checked the oil and rad. didn't even have to jump the battery. fellow members down south and on the left coast wouldn't understand my excitement.

for those fellow members caught in this never ending winter remember to clear the snow around the exhaust area when warming up your vehicle.

they are also starting to enforce import custom charges for Canadians who buy in the U S. it basicly doubles the shipping cost. I won't be buying on ebay anymore. they are getting too greedy.

I've noticed recently that sellers are charging shipping plus import custom fees. who gets this money? when ever I had bought in the U S the Canadian post office charges these fees if applicable. most times I've never had to pay customs. another thing, I only buy if shipped united states postal service.

you could put a small amount of vegetable oil in the bottom so they can't climb out and release them somewhere else.

literally!! 5 gallon pail with a coat hanger wire through a pop can, with stategicly place peanut butter to balance can. place pail near a ledge or have a ramp for mouse to gain access. mouse jumps on can, can rolls and mouse falls into bucket filled with a few inches of water. great for us car storage people because you don't have to reload trap like a conventional mouse trap. my buddy said they caught 8 mice at one time in the hunting cabin up north.

just over 1000 car torched in france. the article says it's becoming a new year tradition among the youth. quite the tradition, hope it doesn't become one here.

I have a kill switch on the battery. I also kill the battery when in storage. it's easy to install and cheap.

fantastic weather here lately. with storage season coming up I thought I better wash and wax the zed. just noticed I have a head lamp out. that might be a winter project. should I do both lamps?

wow!!!! that's got to be the worse cracked dash I've ever seen. I know you stipulated covering was out of the question but I think a full dash cap would be the way to go. turned out pretty good though.
