72 Datsun 240z

My front left turn signal light stopped working. It does not light on when i turn the the headlight and it does not blink of if i turn the signal to the left. Bulb is not broken. I really dont want open the turn signal switch or the headlight combo sw if its not necessary. What would you check prior to opening the combo sw?

At the end i still need to find an OEM water temp sensor made in Japan so i can get the correct temp reading!

Gauge needle moved all the way to the right till 250F when doing this test. What next?? I need a high quality japanese made sensor. Maybe nissan made in Japan.

Test done! Water is flowing! I even installed a temperature cap and it remains in 80 degrees under heavy traffic! I guess sensor or gauge is not reading correctly! Any advice?

Im taking the car tomorrow to a radiator shop. Any thought on a good temp sensor for my 72 240z? Something that could give me an accurate reading?? I paid a Camaro mechanic to solve this issue and he has done all possible external tests. Unfortunately, heat problem is still there. He did noticed 2 things: Oil pressure very low. It only rises when you accelerate. Cylinder 4th could have a problem as measurement are not within 10 percent. Ill do the radiator test tomorrow. How long shall i run the engine at idle withe the cap off?

I drove the car from the mechanic shop to my house with no thermostat inside the housing. During light traffic i got to 3/4 temperature. Something is just not correct.

You misunderstood me. I opened the thermostat housing and discover the tech had not replaced the mishimoto 75 degreees thermostat. Im testing the car tomorrow, adding 1 quart of 10w 30 synthetic oil and reverting. Im concerned about the temperature. How come it goes to 3/4 with no thermostat??

Should i change the motor oil to 20w 50? 5 quarts?

My mechanic just changed the fan clutch with the recommended hayden. Temperature still rises to 3/4 of gauge and oil pressure only goes up when you step on the gas. I did noticed the mishimoto 75 degrees thermostat was replaced with another thermostat. Im really considering in removing the thermostat and run the car without it to keep temp at 1/2. Any thoughts?

Havent checked this yet. Ill need to crank the engine and start the Air conditioner. I will revert.

What about removing the water passages to see if there is any built up inside? I really prefer keeping the new fan clutch we recently installed instead of going with the dual electric fan configuration. Car only runs into heat issues during stop-and-go traffic jams after 10 to 15 minutes.

Thanks Yarb. We bought a cheap chinese 50usd fan for the AC. Its 14 inches. I need at least 12 inch powerfull fan to ventilate the engine bay and avoid issues during traffic and high tropical humid weather.
