Well, I've TIVOed the airing and have it marked not to delete. If anyone wants a copy, I'd be glad to dump it to videotape if you send me a tape with a prepaid return padded envelope. Contact me via PM if you like. Please DON'T lecture me on copyrights...
  2. Hmmm... that stainless windshield trim.... that might make the trip worthwhile... it doesn't appear to be painted brown....

  7. I have a pair of NEW Victoria British Corner Valances for a 280. I'm restoring a 240 and thus do not need them. Will sell or trade for needed 71 parts. Prefer quick sale. Painted primer black (arrived that way from VB) and still have VB stickers on them. Will post pics later today/tonight. Please make offer... I'll be fair, not looking to make a fortune.. just finance other parts needed. Prefer email to: leichenb@yahoo.com
  8. Regarding the rocker panel trim, I had added that to my 280 in the mid 80's (i think it was a 76...). The trim was available in silver and gold aluminum. It pop rivetted in place... Of course, at the time, I didn't know there was a following for Z and I just liked it as an affordable first sports car. In any case, I bought the trim through the ZCenter in NJ... not sure if it was dealer installed... Check my gallery... you could see what a UPS truck does to that trim... :disappoin
  9. I've sent you a PM of this list as well... Here's What I'd Like Spare tire cover- 3 $5 int. left 1/4 panel - 3 $10 fuse panel- 3 $25 shift knob- 3 $5 seats- 2 $20 both SU round top carbs -1 $10 both seat belts -3 $5 luggage belts -3 $5 tool bag (empty)-3 $2 ash tray -3 $15 hood*-3 $25 Please let me know if you have the front left and right valence pieces. Please send pics or a link to them. In the case of the hood, please describe as best you can, I'm mostly concerned with rust on the underside front (where the metal wraps around) and the condition of the front edge (has it been dented in at the point).
  10. Anthony: If you choose to part it out, there are a few items that are easy to unbolt that I'd be interested in... If someone else buys it and can part out some of it (depending on what is not needed) shot me a PM... It'd help my 71 come back to life...
  11. Ya just gotta love this group... Nothing like the wee hours and a sense of humor to while away the time...:classic:

Agree on the stainless steel... that was my intent. However, on the headlight buckets, those four mounting bolts appear to be 'fixed' to the bucket. Is this not the case? Can the bolts be replaced or I am destined to buy replacement buckets... Larry

While removing my pass side headlight bucket, two of the four securing bolts sheared off (severly rusted). I had sprayed/soaked with wd40, but that didn't do the trick. There is still some bolt left, but not enough to pass through the fender. Has anyone successfully welded on an extension (should I try this)? Also, is there a better way to remove the rusty bolts or should I just accept that most will snap... Larry
  14. Whats left? Have you got the door sills (aluminum), glove box interior? How about a 71 unvented hood and bumpers (please state conditions).
  15. Ohhh... these bring back the memories.... I so can't wait to drive a Z again (mine is years away)... I so miss the feeling...
  16. St. Stephen; Give a shout if you 'just gotta get out' or the house gets too crowded.. you're welcome to swing by. We could gather the troops and head out to Matrix Reloaded and beer... mmmm beer. Since you mentioned your battery well, mine is on its way.. in fact, not just the well, but the whole front end. I had a donor quartered. Arriving will be the pass side from the firewall forward, the driver side pass floor and the driver side firewall forward. I'll be cutting out the battery well and frame rails (or larger sections) to clip to my front end.
  17. I may have a source of some 77 panels (fender, hood, rockers, etc.) to use on my 71. I think most of the panels are interchangeable across these years, no? Thoughts?
  18. I may have a 5 speed from a 77 available and am considering picking it up to drop into my 71. Will it mate/drop directly in? I suspect it should, but am not certain. Thoughts?

Rick: Did you buy that car in Ringoes (south/central NJ)? I live in Northern NJ and had considered taking a look at it with St Stephen (also a NJ resident). Yes, they rust preety well here... If you want to save any transport weight (and I can use the parts) I'd be glad to ease your burden If I had the storage space, I might have been more interested. I'm really eager to see your pics. Give a shout before you arrive in NJ... If you're passing through the Northern portion of the state, perhaps we can meet up. Always good to meet another member...
  20. Was just watching my Tivo'd '9 1/2 Weeks'. In the opening scene, a 280zx is seen driving behind Kim Basinger.
