  1. From the pictures, it looks like it needs to be moved in a sling... Considering he says the interior is only partly original and mentions only the early seats, with no interior pics, I wonder what is still there. Will
  2. Go with standard NGK plugs-don't spring for the split ended or platinum plugs, S30s run best on standard NGK plugs (BPR 6ESII in my case). The only differences I have ever found in a cap and rotor are old vs new-new runs better. NGK wires work very well, and not all others do. If you want the best wires, spring for Magnacore, but if your ignition is stock you will pretty much be paying for the bling factor. If Napa doesn't have NGK standard plugs, go somewhere that does-they ARE that important. Will
  3. I left the dock sailing and had to swim back... fwiw Will

in a few minutes I think as pictured, Most likely a #3, in the stock or modified class, but pictures normally don't tell enough-or in some cases tell too much. Especially with his comment "the extra headache and expense was spent tracking down the correct pieces" points off in the stock class for: polished valve cover, polished carb bowls missing stickers on air cleaner, and core support. incorrect hoses, incorrect oil filter, incorrect plug wires, incorrect battery cables incorrect battery hold down incorrect hardware mounting the console Modified console(cover mounting hardware is clearly seen) healthy doses of filler on the hatch shelf. Easy replacement to all of those, but they are still not "correct parts". and he still has these points takers assuming the pictures don't lie. Points off in every class except Daily Driver... corrosion at the union of the valve cover and the block-Number 3 all over it! evidence of brake fluid damage on the frame rail under the master cyl(again #3) Neither one of these is at home on a #1 car. Will Still the biggest problem with that car is my name isn't on the title! That is a car I would have to go see. Man, I type slow-and I missed the battery.
  5. If they are paying for everything, you better partake in everythingROFL! Seriously, I am sure you will work hard, but I bet you'll have a great time too! Will

New ones were are around $17 each and interchangeable when I bought them last year. If there were any problems removing the originals, for $40 I'd buy new ones, and clean the bores with a couple of passes from a rotating scotch brite pad followed by several chases with a doubled 410 cleaning pad(shot gun cleaning kit) and a healthy dose of the silicone grease supplied with Urethane Bushing kits-applied to locking bolt, the actual spindle pin and corresponding bore. I have been reading this thread since it started and thinking of my 20something year old Rotten that died last year of cancer. Too hard to type when thinking of her, she was a stray that lived in the neighborhood for a several years, she would stare you down, hiss and charge if you tried to get too close-just plain mean! One day I was changing my half shafts laying on my back, and she came right up and sat down across my neck-talk about depositing in your pants! This ferocious feline marches right up and claims me! Obviously I was her human from the immediate trip to the vet to have her checked out on... One day we were in the back yard and a large dog came bounding in-she jumped up on his back and rode him out of the yard holding on with three paws and smacking him silly with the fourth-I have never laughed so hard! She saw me through divorce, the loss of both my parents(helped my mother cope with the loss of my Dad), and even tought my eldest son(at just over 1 year old) not to pull on the parts of a cat that will get you smacked! My wife went ballistic until I pointed out Rotten had not used her claws when smacking the indignant young one around. I had to have her put down shortly after he turned three, and he learned what death was and that though painful, it is natural. He still asks about her... She was a big Manx and an unbelieveable part of the last 16 years of my life. Will
  15. I didn't go goofey! Well-that really depends on who you ask-thet bunch in the ZPS zone for instance! I saw the wink, and sent it back invisible! Dave is so good at what he does well, I wouldn't step up to his plate except to put something else on it! The quality of his assemblies are first rate. I am eyeing the park light harness myself and will include some headlight switches I threatened to send him a while back when I send the modified switch out! Will
  16. After looking at a photo Alan sent me of a 432 air cleaner, I though about doming the area across from and concentric to the horns while retaining the removeability of the assembly, I just haven't done the math to figure the proper doming. Will
  17. Ever since the same thing happened to ZCCA.org, I always backorder my own sites just in case... There have been cases in Fla where cyber squaters have been forceably removed from domains and had to pay punitive damages for what they bought to effectively kidnap. Because there is a presidence, maybe a trip to small claims court would get the transfer done if it becomes an issue. All that had to be proven was that the previous site holder had exemplory content investment in the site and that the name was integral to and thoroughly associated with the content, and that the current squater had essentially no actual interest in the site or name related content. I think we have proof of both. A link mill obviously is squatting on the site, and they are essentially empty space content wise. Will
  18. Better wait on Dave to see what it takes, he is the electrical supplier-I don't mind creating prototypes or nailing down a process, but I will almost always ask someone else to put vast(or decent) numbers together. I am in the process of moving most of the stored parts from one location to another, so my dance card is full. I will make a technical article on the process, and then Dave can make them for sale if he wants- Dave, I'll even send you the finished product-hopefully with a piece or two off your list... Will
  19. Do'oh! Tomo, it is the only blob back there mounted with what amounts to an insulated 3" diameter tube clamp, and with a large hose going in the small end, a small hose coming out at 90 degrees to the large hose, and two wires connecting to it. if you folow the large hose from the tank, it will end at the fuel pump. Follow the fuel lines, you can't miss it! Will
  20. I did that very thing to my '76 when I had it. A great thing about a rebuildable rocker switch is that it is pretty easy to modify to effectively make it two momentary switches, it is also pretty easy to set up relays to handle the extra poles-close to the same circuit single pole double throw power window switches use... I'll round one up over the next week or so and post the process with pictures, schematics, and part numbers... Will

I check ebay twice a day, and still manage to miss things on occasion-laziness doesn't come into play. Just today I pointed out a rare part to another member who I knew was looking for one. He had already seen it, but was happy to hear his need was important enough to me to pm him. If you are happy to lend a hand in the garage, what is a couple of seconds at the keyboard...An extra set of eyes is always a valuable and welcome thing. Will
  22. After cleaning aluminum, be sure to clear coat, wax or paint it-corrosion starts fast and makes it look furry fast. Will
  23. Oh sure beat me to the pic...I had to pick the boys up and take them to dinner, and get batteries...no point is posting nowROFL! Will
  24. Except for the fact that neither the manifold nor the carbs are neither NOS issan parts nor rare...both are readily available from several sources. This guy has been in Zs for a good while and evidently has had several cars in shows, meaning he knows what a good part is, and isn't-yet he is more than happy to blur the difference when selling one for the other. That is the practice of a dishonest person, and not a mistake by someone who does not know better. Will
  25. Why not get another defroster switch and rework it- Completely stock appearance, and no damage to the original parts of your car... Will
