Where these rims dealer option for 78?
Somebody got to him, and he seems to have checked it out-still look into the cost to restore the wheels-when added to the cost of the wheels, a new set of Daytons with stainless steel spokes(much lower maintenance) and tubeless design may be too close to pass up for used wheels. Will

Where these rims dealer option for 78?
NO! Not listed in any of the parts listings for any S30, maybe a non nissan, dealer add on, but absolutely not a factory part. With a reserve near $500, he will be holding them for a long time. Used Spoked rims that are rusty have maintenance issues, and probably that means a repair bill in the $500-$1000 range-to replate them they have to be dissassembeld(there is no buffing out in a rusted chrome plated rim), and that means they will have to be trued when they are put back together, and that assumes there are no bent issues and that the spokes are all in good shape-Dayton Wire Wheel does restorations on any brand of wire wheels, and they aint cheep-usually it costs less to replace than to restore-unless the brand of wheel is important (Borranis on an italian car). Good shape for 30 year old wheels may well mean they are safe stacked on the floor of the garage, but put them on a car.... Assuming the seller will realize he is wrong, and do away with his reserve, be carefull, ask lots of questions, get lots of high resolution pictures, and check out some of the jag/mg sites on what wire wheels need(the splines will not be an issue on this type of wheel). Exhaust configuration advice
Mikey has a mandrell bender! The party was excellent! You guys missed the lap dances(we did valve jobs-ok we had a spark plug changing race, but still...) Great food, great company, and the muddiest dirt road you have ever seen-but a great many Zs made it throug and nobody got stuck! I am going to attempt my own Stainless exhaust when the lime comes. I have a crush bender, but I am going to fill the pipes with sand and weld on some caps to keep the crushing down. Will

Exhaust configuration advice
Jonathan, Here is the info on a wideband kit, it is available in almost any configuration form all of the parts to PCB only(I bought the kit sans the sensor). It uses GM sensors that are available at almost any parts store(or Cash-N-Cary(local upull it)). For your exhaust, get the mufflers, and a section or two of convoluted tubing and rough in the fit you want, then buy your stainless from the measurements you take from the rough in... Will

One cam tower shimmed
That Seller has made a habit of not disclosing what it should be obvious a buyer would want to know(and will after recieving the item), changing the story after the auction ends-and NOT knowing the difference between restored and modified. The facts here prove he wasn't even careful in assembly. There is only one reason I can think of the limit access to feedback-and it is up to you to weigh the risk before entering into an agreement with him. Good luck in getting that situation corrected. can front rotors etc from 71z be used on back of a 77 z?
With enough Money/Tallent/Tools/Time, anything is possable, but there are easier conversions already documented-use the search or see HybridZ. Will

All these wiring kits got me thinking...
We talked about replacement harnesses in several threads over a year ago, the pieces are out there, Ultimately I am using a blade style fusebox and circuit breakers(in leu of fuses) for mine. http://order.waytekwire.com/IMAGES/M37/catalog/218_063.PDF This company has almost everything needed at among the best prices I have found. Making the new fuse box(using fuses instead of circuit breakers) probably wouldn't use but $20-30 of materials. Add about $30-40 for circuit breakers. Will

2300 mile road trip for $250.00 240 worth it?
Money and time, but if the family is going... Wow, you can take a trip like that to get a Z, and all you have to do for your wife to approve is "buy some of those stupid little pens that have the floaty things in them."! Will

2300 mile road trip for $250.00 240 worth it?
You live in California, and you are ready to drive 2300 miles for a rusty damaged Z? The whole transaction will cost you an absolute minimum of $750, and two full days-why not buy this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-240Z-Rolling-Shell-Good-For-Race-Car-or-Parts_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42611QQitemZ4559890760QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW and put the other $400 into a rusty local car with a title? Save money use the driving time for working on the car... I would ask the seller if the vin that Nissan stamped in the firewall had been removed... Will

Series I metal fan - how bad is it really?
It is just bad for the water pump which is bad for the radiator(the pump bearings give up and the fan goes through the radiator) The added weight of the metal fan added to the stress of a properly tensioned belt takes out the bearings. Will

VB is now "Black Dragon Automotive"
Some of VB/BD parts are not so close reproductions that are less expensive, but in parts shopping, be sure to shop the parts, I check prices on even the least expensive parts. VB has high shipping charges(right at 25% of the order value on my last check) unless you order over the free shipping limit. Hard to take the name seriously. Will

Driving gloves
Me, Kidding, whoda thunk it? Actually, these gloves go on sale regularly, and I use them for my metal work. They are thin enough to allow some "feel" through, but thick enough to keep the sharps away from the skin-I have never even considered driving in them... Will

VB is now "Black Dragon Automotive"
Tweeks became the Porsch place before I found them. My real consergn with the name change is more whether or not it is indicative of what happened to Number One Import Parts when they became NOPI, and began their Rice catering only...Not that that would not be a bad business move, but that it would lead to dropping the shrinking S30 market... HSR Mitty '06 to feature Japanese Sportscars
In looking through recent history of Nissan event involvement, it appears if an event wants Nissan to actively participate, any automotive relationship is last on the list of their criteria. Nissan seems to respond only to invitations to golf and marathon events-they aren't car guys, they are car manufacturers-just like the people that work in so many automotive parts businesses! They still talk the talk on their website-links to history ,thinking, and suck, but they can't deny they don't walk the walk. Maybe if we turned the Mitty into the Gonzalles Memorial Golf Championship, and the Gonzalles Run on Atlanta...and hid the car stuf deep in the blurb... I edited out most of this post... But "Love Cars, Love People, Love Life" is only talk. "Car Crazy" is proof of what happens when you love something directly related to what you manufacture. WIll Lets not let forget that every Datsun has Nissan under the skin...

VB is now "Black Dragon Automotive"
While Black Dragon is certianly better than Chartreuse Peanut-I think Victoria Japanese might have been a better fit, and kept the relationship to the parrent comapany clear. "Black Dragon" is a sticker that belongs on the top of a winshield on a Ricer that has more fiberglass on it than a Glastron boat. I hope that the new name is deceiving, and that it is NOT related to the direction of the company. Will

#682 on e-bay
The numerical stamps don't match-but they could be replacements installed when the car was repainted. I would want a look at the area around the firewall stamp(inside as well). Still a very pretty car. Will
