  1. Got a bunch of stuff back from the plating company I use. 155 pieces and the cost was $100. They do a nice job. Here are some of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. https://www.240zforsale.com/1973-l24-4-speed-manual-in-nashua-nh/?utm_source=240ZForSale.com&utm_campaign=0d10ff9268-Featured+Seller+Ad+for+September+8th+2021&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_77be7cc975-0d10ff9268-202452969 Not sure why people put these crazy body kits on these cars. I think it totally ruins the car. To each his own I guess but my Dad used to tell me as a kid. “You never own anything, you are just a temporary care taker” So always consider that when you decide to mod your car build an odd house or do anything that would offend future potential owners.
  3. I’m leaving for a work trip is a few hours but managed to complete all the paint touch up work in the engine bay. Hopefully when I get back my Eibach Springs will be here and I can move forward with suspension and then the engine. Battery tray came out “okay” I’d give it C at best but it serves the purpose to stop further rusting and be a little cleaner. In the end, it’s an engine bay, so I’m not going to be too bothered by some paint flaws. I know all the rust in there is properly addressed and I can move forward. I can live with this. 4. Here’s a pic of the battery tray area. Not pretty but it’s all really solid metal. It’s just going to difficult to get in all the nooks and grannies. I have a mild case of OCD so it’s hard to turn away and leave it as is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I’m already in way over my head! Help is always appreciated. Don’t worry if you’re a member of the forum and I have your number don’t be surprised by a call for assistance. Today’s accomplishments: -Tension Rods installed -Sway bar installed -Cleaned up and put POR-15 under clutch master area of body that had surface rust (will paint 110 Red tomorrow) . Need to do that under battery but that’s harder because the tray is welded in. No holes here or flaking just metal just stripped off paint with rust. Need a plan here. - cleaned and painted the brake booster will install post paint under clutch master area. Time to work on house projects so I get some credit when my wife get home.

People have to live or die with the consequences of their actions and decisions...this is called “Life”, something I talk to my children about frequently. We make decisions everyday that impact the longevity and quality of our lives. A lot of people are too ignorant, too stubborn, too woke, and too self righteous to listen to others. I wouldn’t try to convince people either unless they showed a real lack of understanding and wanted to be educated. This isn’t who you’re referring too. You’re referring the opposite and that population is very large. I don’t have time for people like this, so not surprised you don’t either. I also don’t feel sorry for drug addicts, it is a decision that was based on ignorance with well understood consequences. I can’t help the people that don’t want to be helped or are self destructive. 7. Starting installing the “trip hazards” today. If all goes according to plan. Suspension will be finished on Friday. Monday is the start of engine tranny build up and install complete by next Friday [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Ha! Her comment was more to the effect of: “what the heck is all this crap in the garage....it’s a walking hazard” I told her this is the cocoon phase like a butterfly, it’s get worse before it gets better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Such a complicated topic that has so divided people and created a host of conspiracies theories. There is some much crap to wade through to find understanding in this. If you remember the former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld he had a famous quote which is fitting, called: “knowns”. We still have known unknowns and unknown unknowns with this virus. Here’s how I break it down. Keep it simple and apply Occam’s Razors when you have so many knowns unknowns and unknown unknowns. 1. Conspiracy theory’s have been rampant because we have censoring, censoring people and ideas is the leading cause of conspiracy theories. We need all voices to be heard in the public forum EVEN when false. Let the professionals discount them but when you silence them their words gain traction . 2. I believe vaccinations is the best road map to get to this behind us. It’s a tool and not the solution. Solution is natural immunity. The vaccine could save your life and help you develop a natural immunity to variants. We need to minimize the damage and death until we get more natural herd immunity in the population. With natural immunity you’ll have a defense against variants. I don’t think your need boosters once your body has a robust immune response the to SAR-Cov2 virus. The unvaccinated might fare far worse with a wild variant because they don’t have any immune response to put up and the next variant could be more deadly. A person with an immune response might just feel a little ill and need a few days off work . I was vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, got both doses. 4 months later I got Covid. It was mild and minimal symptoms BUT I was highly contagious which is where there is a threat to others not vaccinated . I’ve been way worse in my life, this was a 2 out of 10 for me as far as severity. Bottom line: I trust the scientists, doctors and Heath care providers I , don’t really trust much of what is said by the federal government because many politicians are more concerned with self than the county so they like to spin things that protect them even at the expense of others. In this case the government is doing what they think is best but ....government isn’t good at most things so a “C” is acceptable to them. We still have unknown unknowns and as months progress things will change and we’ll will get more knowns until then I choose to trust the people that spent all their life studying virus and have a PHD over some blow hard on YouTube that thinks the vaccine or The virus is a hoax. Off my soap box now....there is work to do in my garage!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Springs have shipped from another vendor, that was the last piece before the build back. Making progress while I wait. Busted surface rust and got the front valance removed today. Sanded and painted the front frame crossmember. Parts are littered all over my garage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. No doubt he’s having issues impacting his business but you should close you site to transactions until you get back on your feet vs destroying your business. I just got word back from PayPal. My money has been refunded. I was very persistent with him to get my money back and he finally acquiesced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I saw those at Techno Tuning but I think mine are good. I understand what your saying about COVID lockdowns delaying things but you can still answer emails or calls when locked down. I’ve contested the charge with PayPay so hopefully he either responds to their request with an explanation or they refund my money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. This was a rattle can from a company you can buy auto quality paint with perfect color match. I’m very impressed with both the quality and the perfect color match. It’s a two part system. One can of base coat and one can of clear. I did 3 coats of base paint and 3 coats of clean. https://www.automotivetouchup.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Great progress today on engine bay prep. Here’s the drivers side frame rail before...in between...and after. I used Eastwood’s 2k epoxy primer (thanks for the tip Jim) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Okay thanks, I’ll check that out. Does anyone know about other options that Chevette Springs. Anyone have luck with Vogtlands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wow and to think that finding a set of Chevette springs and cutting them is easier than dealing with California Datsun speaks loudly to the business’ lack of credibility/customer service Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I think grannyknot might live near or know the owner at Whitehead. I guess I could ask him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I’m a bit overwhelmed..... also I can’t build up the struts because Whitehead Performance has failed to deliver my springs and they won’t respond to emails or calls. I’m going to have to contest the change with Visa unless I get some response from them. Anyone have ideas? Find another vendor? Right now the only one with them in stock is California Datsun and I’m hearing they suck too. Lastly I can cut my stock springs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Back tracking on the steering rack brackets. All my stuff is back from powder coating and when I placed the steering rack brackets onto the crossmember is clear to me there is only one correct direction. When you have the bracket matting surface pressed to the from bolt matting surface of the crossmember you can see it creates a serious gap on the rear portion of the bracket. Pics below show wrong and right direction, you can see the massive gap and this could be why so many people experience rack play. If both matting surfaces are not flush when bolted down you will not have the same clearances around the bushing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Okay, so after the intense power wash, it has revealed the areas I need to get painted. Everything you see in the pics is perfectly solid metal but the drivers side has had the painted stripped off exposing the bare metal which I assume it due to years of brake fluid leaking on this area which we know is corrosive and damages paint. I have bought matching 110 Red paint and will spray this area soon. I need to sand the metal clean and then get a coat of primer on here. I’m going to paint the entire drainers side engine bay frame rail. Passenger side it perfectly fine. Anyone recommend a solid primer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Operation Degrease complete: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Engine cross member just got back from powder coating. $55 total strip, treat and then powder coat it satin black. Wish I too a before pic. Looked terrible! Got all the suspension parts there now. Will be ready on Monday. Still waiting on my Springs from Whitehead ? I hope he comes through! I put the car on a couple home built rolling dollies. (Each is rated at 1000 lbs and the boards are screws together so to snuggle the frame rails) I’ll push the car out of the garage tomorrow and degrease and power wash the engine bay and front wheel wells before some spot paint and cosmetic rust clean up. I second Cliff’s place as the official CZCC ZCON 2022 base camp. Cliff you can give the CZCC Tech Tips Lectures. We’ll bring the beer and food if you do the cooking? [emoji1787] Looks like I got over a year now to get my car road worth of a trip like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I may have missed this but have you tried adding rear strut spacer? Also, maybe experiment with cutting your old springs and see what you can do there. You might be happy before cutting your new Eibachs. Just an idea. Lastly what if you put the old stock non lowered springs back on there rear? Maybe I missed some things you’ve already tried, sorry if I’m repeating ideas given. https://zcardepot.com/products/upper-strut-mount-spacer-240z-260z-280z?variant=19280977494129&currency=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google+shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-batuuDE8gIVCWyGCh1jfg3dEAQYASABEgJ2__D_BwE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. So do you still have stock springs on the back? If so are you sure someone didn’t cut them already? Seems to be way lower than normal back there. The Eibachs you put on the front helped, looks like it dropped maybe more than an inch. I just bought Eibachs all around and Koni springs too. They haven’t arrived yet but hope it works out. This is mine now with 100% stock suspension. It’s sitting pretty high. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
