  • About my Cars
In 1973 I put $500 down and waited 10 months to get the next 240Z off the boat with no choice of color or options, wound up with an orange 4-speed. That was the first of six 240Z I have owned and now I'm back to a 1973, but this one has a 3.2L stroker, a 5 speed and quaife LSD

  3. Does anybody know what years and models of Toyota 4 x 4 trucks used in r180 front differential with 3.90 gears? Sent from my SM-T710 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  4. I not sure which collar you now have, but it sounds like you have the longer one. If you open the transmission link in post#8 and scroll down to the clutch forks. You probably have the left one in the right photo. Its 28mm from were the fork fingers sit to the back of the bearing. The right one is 24mm. You could ask the company that supplied the clutch for info on which collar to use. I think, but not certain of it, that they changed from 280z to 280zx, but that could be onlt the turbo model. It the clutch is for the 280ZX then that could be where your problem is. Chas Sent from my SM-T710 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  5. If you have the right teeth for your gear ratio make sure the carrier housing is not slightly rotated away from the flat that the keeper locks into that housing is off center for the gear shaft and if it's slightly rotated the gears don't mesh properly and there may be some slop which causes speedometer bounce Sent from my SM-T710 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  6. Bennett Coachworks is a high-end shop in Milwaukee who's owner Bob is a z guy. They have done many many Z cars and he built my 3.2 Stroker for me. 414-298-2068 tell Bob Rodger sent you Sent from my SM-T710 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  7. I have quite a collection of nuts bolts and other miscellaneous parts from the six 240Z I've owned over the years. I know I have seen some of the SS trim corners, I'll look and see what I have. If you can give me specific bolt sizes for example M8 x 1.25 x 25mm I'll sift thru my collection. Sent from my SM-T710 using Classic Zcar Club mobile
