Head coating: jet hot vs ceracote vs MSA
It is my understanding that a ceramic coated stock manifold will perform nearly as good as a plain header when used on a stock Z. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

intake mainfold to carb spacer gaskets
No it was titled as a 71. My understanding is that dealers in each state titled them differently. Also I heard that in our state because there was no MSO (manufacturer’s statement of origin) from Japan the title work was loosely controlled. I have always considered it to be a Series II. No hatch vents, non solid steering wheel spikes, second gen seat belts, storage boxes instead of storage compartments. Etc... Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

help with battery hold down
I picked this up years ago and do not remember where. Seems to work okay if your not concerned about looking original. I really dislike where these batteries are in the 240 but there really isn’t a good place. A friend removed his tray and constructed one much lower turned out pretty decent. 71 Z sells for $38,250 on Bring-a-Trailer
Actually I went back and looked there is so discussion about why the console was changed My guess is in order to make money flipping these the work quality would have to suck because you could easily spend $30k not counting the purchase price. Wonder what’s under the new paint and what’s inside the engine paint. Just thinking Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

71 Z sells for $38,250 on Bring-a-Trailer
I have never seen a 71 with that console except when it was converted when the 5 speed was added. AM/FM in a 71 is possible. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Hatch harness questions
Joe that wire harness laying across your spare tire area should route through a hole on the right side of the passenger seat and up and over the inside it the fender above the wheel well inner fender. It should come out by the expansion tank. It drops through a hole and the routes through the sub frame to the rear of the expansion tank hoses. Don’t for get to separate the wire harness for the interior light and defroster and route up to that area. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

WTB: 81 - 83 shift lever Wanted
Looks like the pivot point would be too high for what Joe is trying to accomplish of using a late 70 5-speed and a series I console without major cutting of the tunnel or console. If you have one send it to me and I’ll do some comparison. I will have my console and center bezel out to find out why my heater motor isn’t getting power.
