Paint job
I did mine in 2016 at a high end Porsche shop. Owner has Worked on numerous car for us. Started out with a plan to remove the screwed on side molding and right side mirror holes. Found rust on the quarter below door and tailgate area. Repairs, glass out, full paint except engine bay. $12k. I did all of disassembly and reassembled. Base / clear to original color. The repairs add up quick. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Gas evaporating from Carburator
Jeff is your choke lever working. I have always had to choke mine in the morning or after it sat a few days. The other day I decided to start it after a couple months sitting. Took full choke and some cracking to get her to fire. You shouldn’t have to manually feed the bowls. I would check the fuel lines clamps for air leaks. Blowing fuse
Joe Behind my heater/radio console i have a blue/white wire with a fuse holder labeled as a AC lead. Past the fuse holder the wire ends at a female lead. That would allow you to connect the wire you identified in the picture and because you said it was an AC car that would make some sense to me. Just a guess. I can send photo is needed.
