Misfiring while cruising
It’s not static. My cold start procedure is near full choke until motor tries to fire then back it off until it starts. Then back off the choke until I get steady idle around 1200 rpm. I let it run and continue to back off the choke until it will idle without choke. It won’t need choke after that for the rest of the day. 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.

ZTherapy Carbs
One of the biggest improvements Ztherapy makes is the replacement of the brass bushing which allow air in (ie vacuum leak) that makes tuning difficult. 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.

Who else works on Z cars now that Z Specialties is gone in the Washington area?
I know Duane at Vintage Motorworks in Kirkland. It is a full service shop with Duane doing most of the work himself. I have good knowledge of at least five cars he had reconditioned or restored to the owners specks Plus he currently the President of the ZCCW and has been a Datsun driver longer than I want to admit knowing him. Even helped me rebuild my sons Subie motor. Check out his FB page. 1972 Float Adjustment ...
- 1972 Float Adjustment ...
You can calculate the differential gearing by jacking up so both of the wheels are off the ground. Mark the side of the tire ( I use blue tape) and the side of the drive shaft. Turn the wheel full turns while counting the turns on the drive shaft. Use those two numbers to calculate the gear ratio. 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- New member
Nice car. Welcome 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- Misfiring while cruising
Yes leaving choke pulled will cause my plugs to fowl. I only pull it enough to start and then back it off as the engine warms. Never had to clean my distributor. 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- engine mount differences
There was no actual contact, but it is very close. I am concerned that it may torque over and make contact under full load. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much if any performance improvement. Basically I reached the point of frustration and really don’t want the hack up my car just for a header. Sounds like you have triple side drafts. If so you may want to look at the “Sport” header. I originally installed one along with the full system with no clearance issues except for the proximity to the rear SU. When I get back to Seattle next week I am going to mount the stock manifold and connect it to the rest of the system for a test drive. 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- engine mount differences
I hear you. The reason I am debating abandoning the header is I have the full system and want to use it if possible. Had it been the connector pipe I may have tried to get it to fit. My old system was a ceramic stock exhaust manifold with stock down pipe adapted to 2 1/2 pipe with a resonator and a magnaflow muffler. Running the Zstory header and exhaust made no improvement in actual horsepower on two dyno runs. Keep me updated on your progress 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- engine mount differences
I recently changed out the Zstory sport header for the race header because of how near it came to the the rear SU. I have this same exact issue with the same header you have. I have new motor mounts and trans mount. I can’t come up with a solution short of modifying the floor clearance. Thinking about abandoning the header for a ceramic coated stock exhaust manifold and a ceramic coated custom 2 1/2 down pipe matched to the rest of the Zstory exhaust. Hope to test next week and cut to fit the V clamp to weld on. I’ll be curious to see what you come up with 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- what is the this stuff on panel below windshield
It is a high density foam pads. Standard on some of the early car possibly others. I have seen them several cars. 72 body with 71 interior, Eibach, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Zstory, SUs, BRE Libre wheels and front spoiler.- Parking Brake Light
