  1. I recall the drone in my MSA "Turbo" 2.5" exhaust to be max ~ 2400 rpm. The straight pipe from the header to the bend at the rear axle would be ~ 2.1m. This would be ~ 60Hz from 6 sources at an average exhaust gas temp of 300C
  2. You can disassemble and inspect the contacts and functioning. Most just replace the whole starter.

Where did Nissan stamp the part number for the dash on NA USA S30's ? I see they seem to have 4: 1970 -1972 1973-1976 1977 1978
  5. Nice product!

He is convicted accused of serious crimes and the evidence is quite strong. This bail jump adds one more charge to the heap. Perhaps now he can request a trial in a neutral country if he was honorable.

I like the non-Spinal Tap oil pressure gauge that only goes to "10"... perhaps Bo Derek would appreciate it.

  13. Nice. Did you weld up the bearing to kill the play?
  14. Perhaps an alignment "pseudo-bearing": A 56mm machined disc with precision alignment hole drilled in centre (or a alignment machined pin) would remove bearing-slop-impairment. This could be turned on a lathe..... for all you lathe envy folks!
  15. Thanks Alan!
  16. Does anyone know when this photo was taken? I'm guessing some time in early 1970?
  17. Max VA = power = Voltage * Current = 2.5V * 6000A = 15,000VA Max kVA= VA/1000 = 15kVA

Hi Kats, Merry Christmas! As Alan mentions, you can make nearly any size DCOE carb work with any engine due to their adjustable sub-componets, however; Weber does give recommendations for racing and street use. These are plotted below. In parallel, many engine tuners over the past decades have published recommended configurations for the street. They generally recommend 40mm and 42mm for street for 2.4 to 2.6 litre engines.... so for a two litre, 40mm would lean more to the higher side. According to the great DCOE tuner John Passini, he mentions in several publications that the transition from a small choke to a larger carb throat causes fuel to precipitate to the carb floor. For example going from 32mm choke to a 40mm carb throat has less fuel precipitation than going from 32mm throat to 45mm carb throat. Weber recommends that the ideal choke size for racing is ~ 80% of the diameter of the carb throat. So for a 45mm carb, a 36mm choke would be best. This is a very large choke for street driving and give poor low rpm performance. A lot of great data is at this site that Hoover and I love.. they use 82% ratio for Solex: http://www.carry-back.com/CARRY BACK Carbu setting 2.htm

You can make them work but 40mm is better. I have 55's but no motor for them.
