I've seen numbers on the block and on pistons. I think it was how they selected best fits in plant. The std was probably a repair piston.

get some electrical contact cleaner and spray every connector's pins (both sides) then make and break each connection 5 times and wiggle the connector while doing it.

Disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated all switches in the turn signal, light, and wiper controls. I now know them very well.

Probably wires in steering column that connect to the ignition key assembly.

You probably want ~34 degrees total. The mechanical advance will give you 17 of that 34 so setting at 17 at low rpms will work well. btw Cranking is tougher the more you advance. 17 is bearable.
