  1. I just entered the 73 pistons in the engine calculator and they will push the compression close to 9.5:1 if used with earlier E88 head however the squish will only be 0.36mm. Very close head/piston proximity. ~ 0.7mm is the ideal squish. There is also variance in who measures gasket thickness. Below I used 1.14mm as measured by engine builder with handle Phred. With E31 head the compression goes to 9.9:1

    Some hope for HLS30-00147.
  3. There also seems to be another later E88 from other markets with EFI. ( MR30 skylines) It is like a p90
  4. You can see difference in E88 champers in these two pictures: Pre 1973 1973 & 1974 (to accept protruding piston)
  5. The 1973 pistons go higher above the block (deck height) which causes them to protrude further up into the chambers. They can collide with a head that is not open enough. A thicker head gasket may help.
  6. Thanks to @Lumens for providing the 1973 Nissan TSB's! The TSB's include interesting flat top Carb info presented below. The great Flat Top expert and car restorer @Zup may enjoy these!-image.png- 1973 Flat Top Carb Info from TSB.pdf
  7. Thanks to @Lumens, I was able to scan the 1973 TSB Nissan Publication. An interesting TSB on the E88 head change for Feb 1973 shows a larger combustion chamber where the piston extends into. The compression height of the piston is longer so that the piston's deck height is greater by 0.7mm. If you need more "squish" on a 240z with E31 or early E88, seek out these pistons!

Thanks to @Lumens for providing this manual to be scanned. You will find interesting data such as the 73 240z E88 heads and pistons being different (pand details of the differences). Also a lot of interesting data on tuning flat top carbs @Zup, @zKars, @Captain Obvious - float levels over the years for 1970,1971,1972, 1973. - cooling - evap / emissions - amco bumper guard - ciggy lighter - automatic transmission (switch and shifter) - 73 tune up procedure - Crank Shaft Pulley Mods - brake caliper problem - oil pressure gauge switch to 90psi

Does the company have a real website and real physical address? Only a gmail address seems a bit thin and unprofessional.

You should come to Canada. The laws and rule are now based on how one feels rather than on truth, science, facts or what the majority think. It is even becoming more insane than how South Park portrays Canada.
  18. You pursued and resolved it! I' happy for you! A nice running Z for Christmas.
  19. I think this was mentioned in post #6... but what do I know?
