Alternative window winders
Ahh yes, I'll have a look around and see what I can find. I'm on a pretty tight budget though. Btw, I LOVE that colour on your zed! And that engine bay! You must have put some crazy hours into that!

Alternative window winders
I need some new window winder handles for my zed, however not a single wrecker where I live has any zed parts. So what are some other common cars that have similar looking window winders with the same shaft type?

Pic of oz 260Z 2-seater fuse box cover required
The race is on! Who's going to get their pics up first! But seriously, thanks guys. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! Rick: I have the light in the glove box too, but no hooked up. This light I am talking about is on the back/outside of the glove box! It lights up, under dash, the fire wall and the back part of the foot well. The wierd thing is it did work when I got the car, but now it isn't hooked up, but it wasn't me that unhooked it. Must have been the farkin panel shop... It wouldn't supprise me if I find thing they farked up until the end of time. Anyhow, there's lots of crazy wiring under there that looks non-standard. Will hopefully have that ripped out/fixed up by the end of tomorrow.

Rick: Fair enough. I suppose most twisty mountain road are quite good at 60km/h. However, all of them around here are 40km/h which is boring by anyones standards. Mind you I did learn to respect such roads back when I was young and stupid ( ). We did a little run down one of the mountains one night and out of the four cars, two ran off. One of which happened right infront of me. Very luckily everyone was fine, but the cars weren't. I haven't driven on such roads like that ever again.

Also, is it normal to have a small light up under the passenger side of the dash, mounted to the back of the glove box? Buggers me what it's good for?

Clutch Replacement Q's
My basically stock L26 averaged around 11L/100km on the drive up from brissy. Around town I'm now doing 14-15L/100km which is sorta hard to afford as a daily driver. I suppose I could do another liter better if I babied it everywhere.

Tommo: I think mdbrandy didn't mention that factor as it's sorta obvious. So maybe it should be "They set the speed limits at a speed for the lowest combination of driver skill and car ability, for the given conditions". But then again, we could write a page long list of factors influencing the posted speed limits. While I'm at it, I think these 24/7 school zones are a crock of $^!#. That's blatant revenue raising..... unless...all the surrounding roads are already 40 kph.

Ahh...now. Define excessive speed. :devious:

I'll join the comfortable at 70mph (112kph) onthe highway club. Well even 120 or so in good conditions, but I never really do that.

Geezz.....How many smilies do you want me to use? ROFL LOL :D (damnit! I tried to put more smilies in but it wouldn't let me!) I was just having a dig Rick, twas not meant seriously. Just as a point of interest, how did you drive when you were my age? And I don't mean that so I can say "har har, you drove like a tool too when you were young". More of less looking for some discussion of how things have changed since then. Road law, policing and peoples attitudes.

*Datto grabs his shovel* So your telling me you never accidentally exceed the speed limit, not even by 3km/h? /dig

Well.... It really depends on where you are and the situation you're in. In normal driving, where traffic isn't to heavy and there aren't too many distractions, then yes, you shouldn't have any trouble knowing/checking what your speed is. The problem is when you get into a busy area, with lots of traffic, lots of pedestrians, or places you're unfamiliar with, then this can be a problem. For example when we were last down in Brisbane... Keep in mind that up here in Townsville people are generally pretty relaxed on the roads, none of the crazy hustle and bustle of the big cities. So we go down to brissy and it's this huge and totally unfamiliar place. The roads are much more congested, people are more agressive and you have added complexities such as that you must be in the correct lane at the correct time or you'll end up on the other side of the city. In this sort of situation you simply don't have the time to keep your eyes glued to the speedo and your speed perfect. You go with the flow of the traffic and that means that you'll often enough end up speeding, even if only for a moment. And if anyone wants to argue that I'd be safer justs taking my time and driving under the limit.......nooooooooo way. I really don't think I even need to explain that. Anyway, my point is normally there shouldn't be a problem. In some situations there is. Also, with the 3km/h "tollerance" down south, I can see drivers spending A LOT more time looking at their speedo's. Hey, ever k over is a killer right? By the same token every second your eyes are off the road is a killer too.
