Still need the finish welding on the front for the seamless edges. Have to replace a lot of metal on the passenger side still.

I know. I plan on replacing a lot of the metal with thicker stock where you see the corrosion here.
  4. These better still be here in a year when I'm ready...!

Finished the rough work on the other side strengthening plate. I was just starting the cutting etc when my bench vise snapped in half! lol, I had to go buy a new one to finish the work.... Luckily for me, the Canadian Tire store is 5 minutes away and they were on sale for 65% off... Unluckily for me, I didn't realize the one I broke and threw out had a lifetime warranty.... ha! Oh well, I got a better one anyways.... Still need to do the finish welds on the front of the plates, grind them pretty and get them shaped just right for the frame rail installation. I will need to replace a lot of the metal above the frame rails too. Feeling better about this part of the job as I wasn't sure how I was going to make the replacement pieces.
  6. Remember, the vehicle must retain 50% of the original metal to be allowed to carry the original VIN...
  7. My 370Z still has that problem 40 years later...
  8. You said it... It took me almost a year to find a serviceable tank for my restoration!

Picked up a 10 tonne press this weekend. Good sale on at Canadian Tire I also have been working on a centre valance sourced from @zKars along with the side nacelles from another member. @Patcon supplied me with the lower rad support centre support for the valance earlier this year (I think? lol) and I now have all the missing pieces to reconstruct the front end! I am soooo excited to have the parts in place (minus the 240 chrome bumper form FutoFab) to finish the front end. Big thank you to all the people that helped out with the parts and @Eurodat for the custom 240 bumper mounting system. Still trying to muddle through the metal work. Lots to do and so little time these days it seems. Looking forward to having the front frame section replaced by Christmas...
  13. Some pics of the insides of my ecu's from my 76 Edit: Just read the other posts and see the situation is in hand now. Glad to hear you have a solution!

    Very nice! GLWS!
  15. Received my copy a couple of days ago but haven't had the time to read through it yet... at first glance it looks very informative and an interesting read! Very cool to notice that the test team drove through Edmonton Alberta during winter trials! I would have been 3....

Yes, I remember your thread post about doing that and I left the fuel and brake line assembly together and fairly unbent... I will use it as a guide. I have all new rubber insulators too, courtesy of Eurodat! I will most likely be doing the charcoal canister delete so my system will be a little different.

Second set of seat brackets in. Did some fine grinding and flapwheel work too. Looking good!

Gotcha! Yes, I'm hoping to have the metalwork done and the bottom of the car prepped for paint this spring. That would allow me to paint the underbody, install new suspension, run new brake lines, install the rebuilt gas tank, and install brake kits.... I'm starting to see where this is going! Once this metal work phase is over, my credit card is going to get a workout.

I doubt it. This is a slow process! I hope to have the metal work done by end of January. Realistically, I see me being done in the spring of 2018... hopefully!
