1976 280Z Restoration Project
Last few nights in the shop have been spent cleaning and prepping for the primer coat. Picked up my supplies today. I will be using the Valspar DTM 2000 series of primer in medium gray. My body shop supplier convinced me it was the best product and replaces the older epoxy primer. It works as a direct to metal primer as well as sealer in a reduced version. Looking forward to seeing how it goes on!

Iso, British columbia 240z parts.
Yeeeeah.... sorry, but I think most of that will need to be imported from the vendors south of the border. From the looks of your picture, you have all those parts. If you are looking for spares, that is another thing. Or are you looking for upgraded parts? Be specific. I have spare transmissions, diffs, engines etc. Again, what are you looking for?

Interesting project. Check out HybridZ.org as they are more in line with the type of mods you are doing.

All-new Z car (code-named Z35) will honor the legendary Datsun
In Canada, the high price of the Z33 made it out of reach for most. I paid almost $10,000 less for a factory ordered Z34.... and got a much better car.

Another interesting auction
I like the resto mod look. When a car is too far gone for "original", a tasteful resto mod can look nice!

Need to replace interior panel skins
If only someone made them to fit early 76 280Z's.... every time I think I've found a set they turn out to be 77-78 panels.

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
I spent over two hours photoshopping ...errrr... cleaning my shop last night. Had to move all the kibbles and bits around so I could move the shell under the downdraft fan for the primer coat application.

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
The drivers side is a NOS OEM from the local Nissan dealer. They are still available for now... restamps from who knows when but better than the fibreglas piece I had from the PO. I am seriously considering getting the matching one for the passenger side. It's a little rough.

Pfff. Look at that shoddy paint matching. Hood looks like bare metal and those scoops are obviously photoshopped .....

valve spring shims
Wow, I had somehow missed this.... perfect. I will order this. The carpartsmanual.com I had seen but didn't find that intuitive or easy to use, especially if I needed to be online to use it.

Pardon the laziness in not having thoroughly searched, but is there a digital version of that parts CD? I have on many occasions wished for a complete listing of Nissan Parts numbers for my car....

Underbody paint color
I'm going to paint mine body colour as the bottom of the car will be detailed with shiny things...
