Different ignition
A 280zx has a analog computer, it computes an output signal from many different signals it gets from de sensors to run the engine.. but it does not have a actual ECU.. (I'm glad it has not!) this system was and can be still reliable. (an ECU has a clock signal and a processor, this can not be found in any 280zx..)

Hi Stick, not to worry you but, I've had 2 t-top cars.. if you put one front wheel on a wooden block about 6 inches high... with the hood open you'll never get it shut because of torsion of the whole chassis.. especially the T-bar cars are bad. The lock go's 2" out of line! (I had this when the car ( a 1980 280zx tbar 2+2) was only 11 year old and in perfect condition.) It's the reason that i'm now restoring a 280zx with slick top. Welcom here Stick, if you need answers, here is the place to go i think!!

Front bumper reinf
Now i looked at them, these are different, but are peaces for a 240z bumper? can someone explain what these are? part numbers are on the 3th pic. N3300 in the partnr. says it is a 260z or a superseeding nr. for a 240z part? After a cleanup they will look like new.

My New Diff Mount and Strap Project
I like the long G-nose.. but the front is already very long.. Haha.. yeah.. few summers ago i was on the german highway with Bart from Bartscooterservice @bartsscooterservice driving my red 240z and a audi came aside, the man behind the wheel looked like: what the hell is this?? We where going 160-170-180-190 kph and the eyes became bigger and bigger from the audi driver.. at 205 it stopped.. then he took his car in front of mine and 215 was the max we drove!! Haha.. ask Bart, he was even more shaking then my car i believe hihihi…. just kidding Bart! ?

My New Diff Mount and Strap Project
I prefer the Allen-bolt. Let's make it: an inbusbolt! More on the subject, My feb 1971 240z car does not have the strap, also the mounts are not there.. I ask myself don't they have one ( the early cars?) Is it why my car shakes so much when going over 200kph? (Last summer on the german highway, around 210 on the clock… totally Original engine! ? ) Got the feeling.. any moment it's going to take of!!

My New Diff Mount and Strap Project
Hey Captain, i can't deal with english hardware on a Metric car!!! … I hate it! ? …. btw... isn't that hex head called an allan key? or is that tipically English to call it that? I've never heard of a SHCS bolt? what does it stand for? ( when Volvo made the p1800 there were also english bolts and things on it for a few years because they made them in England! normally a Metric swedish car..) EDIT... haha.. SHCS.... google... says : a socket head cap screw…. pfff.. we call it (Dutch) a: "inbusbout" haha.. a bolt with an IN(side) hex-hole... simple…

Parts Wanted: Early Datsun 240Z Balance Tube
Yes, 26th z is right. throttle return damper, as memory serves my right... this is a smaller one as on the euro version originaly was.. it's the first part that stops working and people throw them away, because they are not really working most of the time.. (therefore you see them rarely)

What engine do I have?

Parts for Sale: 240z Rear Bumper Ends
I "found" 4 of them on my garage attic.. But here in the Netherlands no one wants to pay up for them so they stay were they are as i payed good money for straight ones.. (different types for EU and US. cars.) A nice new chromed ORIGINAL bumper costs overhere about 400Efor a bumper and 950E for anew layer of chrome.. (copper/nickel/chrome.) In total i got 8 bumpers left, they are 240z and 1 set i know is 260z.. chrome is not perfect but on the outside they are not rusty.
