I see a little cable "hook"on it.. suggests that there could be something electric installed on it.. on the 4 "bolts" ?? Fuelpump?

Now the Ukrainian defence start to use another Z like sign... 🙄 I have taken all my Z signs from my cars when the russians used the sign.. (No.. just kidding, i already took them of years ago, they are in my parts-cupboard. I let people guess what brand of cars they are.)

Btw.. A euro 260z had 162 HP... And exactly the same (damn) Flattops.. About the typo.. i would spell BumperS.. not bumper as it has 2 of them? 😉

Just DON'T wear this shirt in the Ukraine.. at the moment..
  6. I think you can use any modern coolant, just be sure it's for a steel and aluminium engine. Even those good old radiators can't stay good with only water in it.. better get some real coolant.. (I got Renault/Nissan coolant IIRC in my old z's.. made for steel/alu engines.)
  7. How about just keeping the sunroof... put in a new one that you can open in more than one way.. (sliding glass..) I never see one with a sunroof..

I like to ad.. If at any tme you take apart some connectors and they look silver and black corrosion.. then they are corroded silver and you don't really have to clean those silver plated connections.. why? Silveroxide has even a better electric conduction then silver !! Tell me who knew? When i was a electronic engineer in audio (Pro) systems like are used in recording studio's there where a lot of them.. so now you know, let it sit on those connectors it's no problem. For the most connectors in a car i use deoxit also, as i could buy it overhere in a store for music instruments.. they imported it from the US to repair musical instruments! Many years ago i used a chemical called K60 but it is a very agressive fluid.. and after some time the problem comes back.. For bad contacts in potentiometers i use white grease, special made for pot-meters.. stops also the squieky (Cracking?) noises in audio pot-meters! (For example: volume knob of your carradio.)

SOrry, but i don't.. why? It was one of the things why i restored this car. the underside of it is covered in a sort of black tar i really don't know exactly what it is but i think it's what we overhere call: "silolak " a translation could be: silo-laquer.. (stuff farmers use to protect concrete/steel/wood.) It's on there since the 90's so why did'nt i take it off? I believe i tell this somewhere in the topic about my 280zx and it's because when i took some off the stuff (maybe it's a (secret?) mix of special stuff i don't know but i took some off from the brakelines and they came out as NEW! from under it! As i'm partly disabled, i have had a neck injury long ago where i almost broke my neck running up stairs and hitting a big beam.. auw.. So now i can't look up a long time, also not to long to one point and that kept me from doing the floor.. As i took out all the stuff out of the car i could see that the car had a good floor. Maybe some day i will clean it off by a firm or so.. don't know but as long it's a good floor i will keep it "oiled up" so it doesn't rust.. To the secret stuff used as undercoating can i say, maybe the last owner who i plan to visit when i'm ready with the engineroom, knows more about it. My 280zx was inside and outside sealed with oily stuff, not normall! But that's what saved this vehicle! I took it all off incl. the paint. Have you seen the wheel houses on my pics?.. just thought of that! I had them cleaned out (costs another 500€) and must have some pics of those all cleaned out.. Mart (It comes from Martin!) ... Yes i also react to Dutch.. haha ) 🙂
  10. Sigh... (pfffff....) 😁 you should buy or hire some cheep!

WOW !!!!!! That rail looks terrible/horrible !! I literally screamed when i saw that!! How can this come that bad without the floor getting bend? wow! Btw, you did a nice job on getting those dents out of the floor! Can't wait for the pics of you putting in a new set of rails!
  12. Yes.. about the over engineering... haha.. i think that the '90's Nissans were the best nissan ever made! These days i think they only make crap hahaha... (In comparison..) just like the rest! It does not matter what you buy, everything looks like it's made to brake down.. not only cars.. What?? you say? your phone is 8 years old??? that's a antique!! come let's buy a new one!! (Btw.. my phone IS 8 years old and on it's 2nd battery...pfff.. Still working fine, as long i avade all updates!! .) (Pfff.. means sigh)
  13. Before i opened this ad.. i betted with myself it was the one with the puppets and the wife from the dollhouse, yes!! It's rarely seen.. I like to ad.. In the 90's when this car was a few years old i sat in a '90 car in 1994 and it was half price... at 80000 guilders it was made from unubtanium.. as you guys say. It was the most expensive japanese car you could buy overhere. (The Netherlands.) Then in 1997 i bought one! it was a non turbo From the USA.. it had about 100kmiles on it but drove perfect.. after 6 years i sold it and in 2007 bought the real thing.. a 300zxtt from 1992! It was the one with everything on it.. first driven by a ceo of nissan and later it was a directors car of a nissan dealer.. then 10 years in a collection and then it became mine.. Now after 15 years of ownership and 27000 km's i can say this: I will never have a more perfect car then this.. what you say? the costs?? I can tell you that besides the fuel and insurance.. IT DID NOT COST ME MORE THEN €2500 THESE LAST 15 !!! YEARS!! ================================================= (This includes new battery's, set of tires, brakepads and oil chances and MOT's! and a new type2 ptu (something every 300zxtt got for free in the early days from nissan.. i bought one for €25,- 😉 The even better thing is... when i want to sell it now.. i probably get a few times the amount i paid for it as i see the price skyrocketing.. (Finally lucky for once haha..pfff...) The shiny object... (still after 30 years working clim.control and NO extra fillings needed! unbelievable.. secret? i let it run EVERY month for at least 20-25 minuts.. thats very important! It's very good for the valvetrain AND the aircon stays FIT!!)
  14. It took 10 years before i could sit in a 370z..!! Never seen one overhere!! (350z was also scarce) I guess it's gonna take a lot of years before i see a Z of 2022- ... as they are not exporting them to europe GRRRR....
  15. My local painter could/can still order that kind of paint, it's from SPIES HECKER permacron. (I had NISSAN TK3 blue pearl metallic paint.)
  16. Over 20 years ago a friend used some waterbased paint on a oldtimer.. then he did not want to drive it because the paint chipped easy due to little stones i guess.. the paint was very soft.. i don't know what the waterbased paint is these days but the colormatching should be no problem. I think the oilbased (what i used on my 280zx) is still the best way to go on the oldtimers. New cars are all waterbased paint i think? (Maybe that's why they are all like oranges!!) Paintwork these "robopainterdays" i find completely S .#%&^$#%^$$. H .^&%#$%^$$. I .&%##%^% T !!!

I'm not much away from home i guess.. and when i am i take those codes i need with me on that specific trip... don't need 200 of them! I also have a system in website passwords that i'm not gonna tell here haha.. Exactly! 😉
  18. Yeah that's a problem, better take off the whole card.. when you brake a tab there it's easy to replace! and you can then get to those tabs more easely also! It can be a lose wire or a defect switch or a motor connection,, but i don't think it's the motor as it went down well.. the glass..

I thought that the horns are original a very dark green? (Or is that only on a 280zx euro..?) I painted them black.. ( I also took them apart completely because they didn't work very well and it has to be very clean inside before you use the one center screw to "tune" them..)

Ps... my secret number is NOT 22 😉 it's much much bigger... 😁

80 Plus? I counted over 350! then i stopped but there were more.. AS a EX.. securitysystem -guy... i always said and still say: NEVER ever put all your secret numbers in a computer!!! It's asking for trouble !! A piece of paper what you hide on a secret spot is much safer because no scammer can read that on a computer! You can think it's save on a computer... IT's NOT !! ANYthing on a computer is in there with zero's and ones! and everything is .. in the end... readable, how good your safety is does not matter, if i can read the harddisk i can access ALL your Data.. SO.. 1 NO secrets on a computer, its not safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 a piece of paper, and when your number is 3491 make a number in front and or after it say: 22349122 You only know that the 22 is fake! Make it a habbit!! Put 2 letters or diggits in front and rear.. think of your own number you want to use... then.. even is someone finds your piece of paper can't work with it! Good luck ! 🙂
  22. Eh..? No? Not on 280zx's.. but i think you refering to the 260z that were still build for europe from 1974 till the 280zx came in 1979! Then Yes! There were still carbs then on the 260z's (So the 260z's were here for sale from 1974 till 1978 between 240z and 280zx.. the 280z was never delivered official in europe.. all 280z are grey import.) What the head number was on 260z i don't know for sure but the E88 comes to mind, no idea if there were N42's on 260z's? On the 1979 280zx there was a N42 head. You can read about it in my restoration of a 1979 2+2 slickroof datsun 280zx thread i think..
  23. In Europe we had the N42 Head in the 1979 280zx.. original..
  24. As those gearboxes only came in early european and i guess asian models, there are just few.. Maybe @kats can help? I've had a 1972 240z orig. Dutch import and that one already had the Fs5c71b not the a.. I never opened a Z-car gearbox.. I'm not going in there haha.. why do you think i stocked up on gearboxes? 😉
  25. Maybe these Vogtland ? I guess they are in many colors available, look for the name in the middle of the spring..
