I think you are asking how can one tell if it was a factory 240zg or a Z with a g-nose. 1st giveaway if it is a 240zg is that it MUST be RHD. 2nd is that all 240zg's were painted either GP red, GP maroon, or GP white. 3rd the vin # must start with HS30-. Even with all of this it does not insure that one has found a true 240ZG from the factory, but if any of these are not there than you know it is not a Fairlady 240zg. If you ever do get to see a g-nose in person, look at the nose, is it one piece? Or does it look like it is made of separate headlight buckets, top panel, bumper, and under front thingie. I don't know the lingo. Anyways, back to 240zg. The 240zg had a 5-piece nose, oh and don't forget the dark grey bolt on fender flares. If you are more interested I could send you some pictures and tell you everything I know about the 240zg. I do not know a whole lot, but I am trying to learn. Member HS30-H has an exceptional example of a factory 240ZG. Just type HS30-H in the search bar for gallery and you will see what one looks like. I hope I helped to answer your question. -Ben:classic:

Does it have to be a GTR to be a skyline? My bad, I don't know a whole lot about skylines. I am learning. Hehehehe. Thanks for the correction Kyteler.
  5. I have seen this car in person. It is not a 240zg, it is a fairlady z(s30) either Z or Z-L. The g-nose itself is actually a very nice one. I am not sure if it was a factory g-nose, but it was a 5-piece with the very hard to find headlight covers with chrome trim. This car is not my cup of tea and for that price one could find a very nice original 240ZG in Japan. -Ben

That is some awesome dish Greenmonster!!! A Z would need some nice flares for those. I love your 1st gen skyline by the way.

You can get spacers to put on a z to install these wheels, but I am not fond of this watanabe style. I believe these are called th F-8. I think these were made when Watanabe was owned by another company, but I am not sure on that. Yeah, I think you should go with a 0 to +12 14 by 6.5J. These are way to negative. The single piece wheels look better on a Z in my opinion. Take care, Ben
  8. You never sieze to amaze me with your knowledge on vintage Japanese cars Alan. That goes for you too kats. -Ben
  9. Thanks Kats for the great information. Was the 2300cc engine a toyota or yamaha design? Was the 2300 only made for export? Thanks again, Ben
  10. I am with you Alfa, the car definately looks better with that sleek roof. Alan, I assume that they made it in LHD also for export. Were these cars ever exported? Take care everyone, Ben
  11. That is a pretty good book. Actually a great book. It is very imformative and I love the section on the Rally cars. Ben
  12. here it is...
  13. They look like the same size in this photo, but I always thought the 2000gt looked a little bigger than the zed.
  14. nice car, bad photo
  15. Here are a few pics that I took at Blackhawk a year ago. Enjoy
  16. Two summers ago I went to the blackhawk car museum in blackhawk, CA and there was a white 2000gt on display. I remember it very well. It was a beautiful car, and I only knew of their existance through some Z books and that it was on a James Bond flick. I believe the one I saw was a LHD model. I will post some pics of it when I get home. I am not certain, but did Carrol Shelby race the 2000gt or have anything to do with them? I thought he did for some reason. Great car, and I am glad I saw one in person. Some where in the states there is a 2000gt club. I saw it on the web awhile back. Take care, Ben

The picture of Auxilary's 240 was taken at the 2003 Z's by the bay show in Fremont, CA.
