I'm just back from a 1 week holiday in the Czech Republic , visited Prague also. The last day we went to South/West Germany, Sinsheim Technical Museum, very nice ! I went with the 240Z no problems, the car ran fine all the way. ( more than 2000 km total) Here's some pictures..

Well... look what I got in the mailbox today: I was indeed the first owner of the car in question. It was one of the first in Kansas City and was purchased from Overland Park Datsun. I traded in my 1969 440 RT Dodge Charger for it. Car was never wrecked. We moved in the Spring after purchase to New Rochelle \., New York. There we had to have the 3rd gear synchro repaired under warranty. That was the only mechanical issue with the car. Rust along the rocker panels soon appeared, but we had it repaired and dar fully repainted after moving back to Kansas City in 1976 then sold the car to a dealer friend of mine in Leavenworth, Kansas ROUND 1978 - 79. Guess my friend drove it until 1987 or Mr. Campbell is not the second buyer. In New York the car was maintained by Bob Sharp Datsun. Sharp was an amazing race car driver and won the C production class of SCCA in the Z cars for many years. Hos son is Scott Sharp that races the Patron car in the Rolex series. Hope this info helps? Regards, Bob
  5. Remove the cowl and take a look, there's usually alot of stuff lying around there, blocking also rain water flow to the exits.
  6. The drawing above is in MM. I used a Industrial supplier for rubber seals. It's been a year so far, and had no leaks, and doors shut easily.
  7. I used a universal rubber seal just a few bucks really, it's in this topic http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/body-paint-s30/45552-door-slamming-issue-fixed-finally.html

I was digging some information, and found what I think is the original color code of the car on the warranty card, if correct it should be 901 Silver. The other number is 954, but according to zhome.com that's not a 240z color code.

  17. I enhanced the picture for you. It does look like the emblem on the rear quarter says " 240z " to me.. but I could be wrong.
  18. Hi Mike, Great story, sorry to hear about your dad ! I also didn't knew my dad had a 240Z in the past.. like you I am unable to find it back. I'm also still searching for the first owner of my 240Z, I do have his name. Did your dad leave any documentation or other information of his 240Z ? That might help.. Gr Bart
  19. Yup, I experienced that water pump failure 75 km from home.. I'd recommend anyone who's Z has been in storage for a long time: replace the water pump !
  20. I'm using 7 for my work pc. I also think it's what you want to do with your pc, if only internet and e-mail and some word and excel, windows xp will still do fine.

You still have a mechanical linkage, it could be sticking somewhere there. Usually the problems I had with the older injection engines was that the throttle plate would not close fully due to gunk, although it looked like it closed fully, you can not see those few mm...
  22. ^ a friend of mine works in the plastic injection molding field, he said if you have the injection mold for the dash, making the actual dash is cheap. The problem is plastic injection molding is about numbers to make the costs low, so making a few would still cost alot.
  23. If I am right in calculation, 1 litre is 1,72 euro here in the village, which is 2.60 Canadian Dollars ! Double ! The goverment is wondering why it's so quiet at the gas stations here around the border with Germany ( Germany 1,45 euro a litre ! )

I placed the new brake drums and oem nissan brake pads also. But did not yet adjust the handbrake. I took an hour this evening to adjust them according to what's said in the FSM, and now it's 3/4 clicks and the wheels are locked..so that should be fine.

I managed to pick up these 4 280zx 14 inch iron cross wheels today. So I can put my 195/70/14 Dunlop tires on these and be done with it. They use the same oem nissan lug nuts as the turbo wheels. I'll think I'll leave it this way for now...
