  1. Very nice work, as always. Reckon you might have yourself a little business opportunity with that hood bracket solution you've made there, Chris. Buy a couple of used brackets, modify them, and sell them on an exchange basis with the necessary shocks and additional brackets for mounting to the frame. You've done the work figuring it out, so you might as well try and make a few extra bucks off it to further fund your project! I see a lot pics online of the turbo guys using sticks to hold their hoods up, after they ditched the rods for intercooler space.

Are your aware of the Zstory exhaust? Just throwing another option out there for you... very similar style back box, albeit not a dual pipe system. 2.5" pipe, all stainless, and around $700 USD. Search for "zstory" on Facebook for more info.
  3. Might be time to start using US address shipping service, Chris. Not a short drive to the border for you, but it can quickly save you quite a lot of money. I recall ordering an air dam and getting free shipping within the lower 48. The guy at the border waved me through too, no taxes that time. Helps with ebay sellers that aren't comfortable shipping outside the US too. I use kinek.com Bumpers look great, clean lines!
  4. Mine is the 3rd picture from the top, the white bay. Glad someone noticed the fresh, non-yellowed connectors, haha! I bought a whole bunch of connectors from the site you posted, great seller. It's a small job replacing the old brittle connectors, maybe 10 minutes per connector once you get the hang of pulling the wires out from the old ones. Things do seem to work a little better for it!
  5. Always thought the locks on the gas doors look hellaciously ugly. I really like zKars solution, but I'm tapped out for S30 spending this year. Maybe in the Spring, if any are left
  6. Didn't take any pics of my own car, oops! Hopefully someone else got a few of it, white 71'
  7. Some pics I took. Didn't get every car, but got most of the S30's in. Some real gorgeous cars there today!
  8. All of your numbers were really throwing me off, then I saw you were running 40's. The air/fuel jetting numbers seem sort of low. Do 40's usually run 32 for large venturis? How is you car pulling up around 5k to redline?
  9. Great info, thanks for sharing!
  10. GREAT post! Reckon sometimes we catch ourselves missing the forest for the trees, and your post was a good reminder to take a step back and see the bigger picture.
  11. Congrats Chris, must feel great to see a car you built command such a good price! Can't wait to see how your next project turns out, you certainly don't lack the funds for it now

Good luck with the sale, Chris, it's a beautiful car! On the listing you really ought to add a quick video of the sound your doors make when they close - that alone speaks volumes as to how good a job you did with the restoration and attention to detail. You're well on your way to getting a good price for the car though, and with the US dollar being a bit stronger than the Canadian, that's another nice bonus on top.

Did that when I had drone issues and it helped quite a bit, then I ditched the chambered flowmaster muffler for a perforated core magnaflow. Problem is all but gone now, although the car really screams at WOT, haha. FWIW I run 4.11 and with my 5 speed and 23.9" tires I turn about 3700rpm @ 70mph. Makes for loud highway cruising, but I still get around 25mpg so out isn't so bad. These engines seem pretty content to sit around 3500rpm all day long.

Not entirely sure how well this works, but it was already on the car when I bought it and the PO generally seemed to know what he was doing when he set the car up, so it stays. It does take in a little oil from time to time though, so it saves mess from accumulating elsewhere in the engine bay. Basically just rubber lines from the crank case and valve cover meeting at a y-pipe, then running into the catch can. I had a K&N style filter on there before, but it regularly became saturated with oil, so I switched to a fancy billet Earl's filter, which handles the job a little more tidily.

High carbon steel, eh? Hope it doesn't rust out too quickly - not an issue in a piano, where it won't be exposed to wet conditions, but in an engine bay it will be. Interesting idea, but wouldn't bicycle brake cable be a better choice?

  18. The only downside I found when running RA1's was that they don't like low temperatures. I keep my Z on the road as late as possible into the winter, basically until they put salt on the roads, then it gets stored. One night the temperature dropped down to about 5°f and one of the tires split up the sidewall... the cold turns them brittle and can ruin them. So if you are planning to use RA1's as a daily driving tire, and your car will see very cold temperatures - then I'd either have a second set of wheels/tires for colder months, or sacrifice a little grip and get a lesser tire. If you don't have to suffer cold temperatures, I doubt there is a better streetable 15" tire available.
  19. Beautiful!! I went for a good long drive today too, what a gorgeously warm day it was for this late in the year!

I used Glisten PC on my Mikuni carbs after I blasted them. It's held up very well in the 6 weeks or so I have been driving the car with them on the engine, zero discolouring or flaking. I also struggled with the brush marks though - I found it helps to lay it on as thinly as possible and build up multiple layers. Not easy to really show it, but this pic is the best I could find of the coated carbs.
