door handle removal?? help ??
There is no need to remove the window. I have done a few of these as they tend to get old and brake. You have already removed the two nuts on the handle. The connecting rod can either be popped out of the handle (take a flat head screwdriver and press) or you can also remove the handle with the rod connected as the lower end just lifts out of the location it attaches to. It is much easier to remove the handle without the rod connected! Do not drop the rod or you will be in for more cuts on your arm while retrieving it! Installation is just the reverse...although not quite as easy as removal as you will find out.

spyware blocking
Interesting you would say this... I have my parent's computer here right now and am cleaning it up and winfixer was one of MANY items I just removed from it yesterday.

Your first mistake is using AOL anything! Ditch them and get a new ISP, a cheaper one for that matter (and use the savings for Z parts!).

Anybody building headlight relay harness?
I'd be glad to host the files for everyone as long as you are willing to email them to me.

Proud New Mama
Welcome to the club and you could not have chosen a better one to join!! You were asked about the VIN because on the early cars we like to know how early it is. There is also a thread called "how close are our VINs" that you should add your info to. There is discussion about the order some times, things that differ between cars, etc...all of which tend to have something to do with the VIN. Plus it's just bragin' rights!

FS - '73 240 engine
So it's a valve cover, complete head (E88 presumably), compete block, and oil pan. Is this correct?

Filler on roof........normal?
If anyone needs a roof I have a parts car with a good one that can be cut off.

Tow or trailer
Yep, a tow dolly will work just fine in your case. I still prefer to trailer a car though...then again it's easy for me since I own a car trailer.

New Z diagnosis...

"How Do Cars Age?" One year at a time. hahaha :stupid:

Scored Crankshaft?
I have an L24 crank if you find that you need one.

Jet Hot Headers
You simply ordered (or received) the wrong header then. There were only two heads for the Z that had round ports and they were both on L28 engines (the N47 and the P79 as I recall). Those looking for headers may also want to consider Arizona Z Car.

Choke Knobs
You are correct and I'm missing my screw from my '70 and have had a difficult time finding a replacement thus far.

How Close Are Our VIN #'s
Interesting...mine is a 10/70 build date with VIN 8215. I know that these situations have been discussed before...they are still interesting when we find them though. Yes, that would be a '69 production date car.

Early Fuse block FS (Excellent Cond.)
If you're interested in getting rid of the long pig tail one you removed let me know...I may be intersted depending upon condition and price.

Early Fuse block FS (Excellent Cond.)
Too bad it's not the long pig tail...

Rear skirt needed?
If you end up deciding that you need one please let me know as I believe I have one that I can remove for you (I have two parts cars and I think that this part is good on one if not both of them, would have to go out to where they are stored to verify this).

throttle cable pictures?
Here's a pic of a car I had last year. This was a cable that went from the gas peddle to the carb. Keep in mind that this was a 4bbl conversion and that it may not be exactly what you are after; it should at least give you the basic idea. This is a HUGE pic/file so if you are a dial up you may not want to open it, on a fast connection it will still take about 1 minute (maybe more) to fully load. http://www.pape.ws/gallery/album15/aao?full=1

I remember hearing about this! I think it may have been discussed on this site some time back.

throttle cable pictures?
Steve, I'm not quite sure I follow. You want to see pix of how the throttle connects to the carbs from the gas peddle? For what specific application (stock SUs, 4bbl, triple carb set up, etc)?

Zzzap
Glad to see that you found your way over here!! In short order I see that some of our Z experts have already posted some info. I knew that people on this forum would have something to share with you! And of course welcome!!!

Anybody need a rust free battery tray area?
Just shot you a PM.

z bodies
And I'm curious why this matters? Do you just want to know or are you trying to locate a specific part for you car, or what? I do know that the MANY differences of the early (first gen) Z cars have been discussed over and over again on this and many other sites. It's a very long list of differences...even just between different years of the same model such as the series I and series II 240Z as mentioned above. Whew! My head is starting to spin thinking of all the possible differences again...
