Welcome to the club first off, this is by far the best Z site on the web!! I agree with Arne, please search as this topic has been covered many many times and there's a TON of good detailed information on it available already. Next, please post in the correct forums, this one is not for questions it is for articles which have been written describing how to do something. There are many forums on this site so please take a moment to review them and the information in them (ok, this may take FAR more than a moment depending upon how many threads you choose to read...when I joined a few years back it took me days to review all the archives). Posting in the correct forum will gain you more replies and better ones at that.
  3. Carl, good to see you again...please stick around I have missed your posts. Zmefly, f*** off!!! Do not come back to this or any other site as it's clear that you are just out to take advantage of people and screw them. You should be spending time in jail with a large guy who makes you his bitch then see how you like being screwed.

Ditto the above info. Do NOT uese the bracket that you are talking about for towing, it WILL come right off as this is not what it's designed for nor is it strong enough for the task. Had you only realized that you needed this a few months ago when I still had my two parts cars I probably could have supplied you with one. Best bet is to hit the junk yards or contact someone with a parts car and get it that way. Just weld it back on, there's no concern about strength since it's only a support bracket for the front grill and lower valance.

Here's something else for you to read (just to add to your research): http://geocities.com/zgarage2001/z.html
  6. Oh please tell me he has a website with info and pix!!!!

  8. I stand corrected. I had never seen one that looked like this before and figured it was a custom one of a kind deal. Glad others are here to keep me in line.

tri-star, did you just bondo this area up and smooth it or did you do metal work (cut/weld etc)?
  10. That's a custom hood. Never seen one like it before, probably one of a kind.
  11. My first thought was a Jag also then when I saw the grill I wondered if maybe it was not some MG that I had never seen before. Great call Arne!! Please don't poke fun at Speed Racer! He's my hero!! No, seriously....I really do like him. I have some of the collector items (coffee mug, calendar, etc) as well as the complete series on DVD.
  12. This item has been listed no less than 3 times now and the reserve has never been met. Interesting item none the less.
  13. Too bad you're not local to me, I have no cash and have the space...just got rid of two parts cars a couple weeks ago.

Would you mind emailing me those pix and I'll add them to my Scarab file which are published to the web for all to benefit from?

DRAT!!! Now 26th will end up with it...I've been watching that auction since it started as I would like one also...just no money for such things at this time.
  16. Yes, please share!! I am interested in this part by the way.
  17. So if I'm understanding the information here there is no cutting/tapping/splicing of the original wiring correct? This is avoided by use of the white molex connectors right?
  18. Another issue that just came to mind is that this may also be a city ordinence you are in violation of and should that be the case then the fines could be VERY steap. My brother keeps his boat at our parent's place in the drive way...that is until two years ago when some jerk in the neighborhood complained about everyone (included addresses) and everone in the neighborhood with a boat/RV/camper/trailer/project car/etc was served by the city.
  19. Just a point of fact as to what an HOA can do if they so choose...if it is a true HOA and not just a neighborhood association (there is a HUGE difference even though it does not soud like it by the names). An HOA can in fact levy fines aganist the offender and if not resolved and the fines paid they can then place a lien against the home!!! Don't believe me, let it happen then try and sell your home. How do I know...I'm a real estate investor and bought a home in 8/05 which had over $6k in fines built up against it and we could not close on it until those were cleared because they had filed a lien against the property. I do not wish to go in to all the details of how this was and why...just take away from this that it can and DOES happen.

This can be answered in two words: "impact wrench" Now if you do not have access to one then this is a bit more difficult and the above advice should be considered.
  21. He's having to bore either block so the price difference is in buying the 260Z block vs. buying new oversized pistons for the 280ZX block.

Hey ZTejas, where in Tejas are you located?
  23. It has been written in many places that the N36 intake is the best one for flow...now I have never seen any proof of this.
  24. Hey man where you at!? I'd love to meet you!!! I live in Cedar Park also...it's a small world. I know my profile says Austin and that just because nobody knows where Cedar Park is yet they know Austin. Please PM me and we'll see about getting together or something.

I would rather the installation not require tapping and cutting wires the way you describe. Is there a way to do this with molex connectors like you did for the headlight solution?
