I'd have to agree! This is a good question. I have a 8/70 production Z (a series 1 car) and I'm planning on putting an F54 block, an N42 head, and 4-screw SU carbs in it with a '77 5-speed and a 3.9 R180 rearend. Which FSM would I need?

Tommy, I sent you an email yesterday afternoon but have not heard anything back from you. Please get back to me via reply to the email.

There is value in these items. Many people with these cars do not have these books...like me for instance. If you decide to sell them please let me know.

I'm out of ideas!! I have replaced the hatch glass seal, the outter hatch seal and the inner hatch seal, the fresh air vent in the hatch (series 1 car) and yet I STILL have a water leak!!! :tapemouth What can I do!?

Damn sad that things like this happen. At least you caught them in the act and put an end to the theft. If you have the space putting the car in a garage would be a good idea...someone else may try and take something or these punks may return to get revenge for you calling the cops. :disappoin
  11. Very interesting read Zmefly, thank you for the link.

A friend of ours was over for dinner last night and I asked her about this; she's from Japan and currently teaching Japanese here to high school students. She could not figure out what you were talking about and I was of little help to her. She told me that the spelling out phonetically of the letter Z has several because it can be pronounced differently in different words. Was this what you were trying to convey...the phonetic spelling of the letter Z? Also a plate I've seen at a building I used to work at was V8 Z I'm assuming that they didn't like the drink that much but that the car had a V8 engine in it.

Sorry about the initial size on those pix, I was in a hurry this morning and forgot to take care of that. They are not much smaller so they do not take all day to load and I also added an index.html file so that the pix all load automatically in the browser.

THANK YOU!! I knew I had seen this but could not find the URL, I'm so glad someone else could. It's a great place to get ideas for your own plates.

Hey Mike, here's a link to the three pix I shot this morning of the wiring for the signal switch that is in my car right now. Please let me know if the one you have looks like it will work. http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff/My%20Signal%20Switch/

I need a turn signal switch for my 8/70 240Z. I have heard that they changed them at some point but I don't know when. Just so long as the one I get not only works properly but will work in my car I'm good to go. Please contact me if you have one that you'll sell me. My inspection is coming up soon and I need to get this part replaced.

  19. Would you believe that I was out sniped by the same guy on the same part again!? Even with my using the AuctionMagic software that was suggested earlier in this thread! Darn it... This guy is obviously not doing any restoration work, he's either stock piling these or reselling them in Japan for a bundle.

  21. I have a bunch of 240Z parts listed on eBay for sale and more to come. Please take a look and bid or let me know if you want something, I'll end the auction early for a fair price. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&include=0&userid=djsting1&sort=3&rows=25&since=-1&rd=1
  22. Tax yes but consider this...what it the sale price was only $1...how much tax are we talking about?

I saw this auction too and asked the seller for a pic of the item but have received no reply yet. I'm starting to think that it doesn't really exist.
  24. Maybe so but what if he ever wants to sell the car to someone who lives in another state? Not that any of us would EVER sell our Z.

Lokk here!! A 99% rust free rolling chassis with three pencile sized holes in the floor near the driver's seat, NO pass. seat, cracked windshield, missing pass. head light bucket, missing front bumper, missing grill, missing cowl, missing hood inspection doors (over the battery and washer bottle), missing radiator, missing front marker lights, perfect dash (probably just a cover), and a hole in the hood indicating that this had a V8 in it which also likely means that the front wiring harness is gone. All this for the low, low, LOW starting price of $1000!!!! :surprised Wanna see it!? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39405&item=2472733241&rd=1 If this sells I need to put my rust bucket parts car on eBay!!!
