1971 240Z for Sale on the EAST COAST
A couple other notes: This is not a series I as it is advertised. Series I cars had the E31 head not the E88, they aslo had the vented hatch which this one does not, they had the 240Z sail badges which this one does not, etc, etc. Secondly, in addition to the mentioned repair work you will also be looking at MANY new rubber pieces such as hoses, belts, and seals not to mention that anything that is greased should be re-greased (steering, suspension, etc), new tires are almost certainly required too. Dry rot will set in over 11+ years of non-use and cause more problems than you think. This is a project car and will need a lot of TLC and as a project car it's worth more like $1000-1500 (in it's current condition). Now for donating it and taking the $5000 write-off...yes, you can do this but you will have to live with yourself and for this action. It's really very unethical and immoral to donate something with a market value of say $1000 and claim it to be worth $5000. If it were really worth $5k then you'd be better off selling it as the tax deduction will show you a smaller return. I also think that the IRS would be really interested in how a non-running car could be worth $5k as a donation (don't create any reason for them to audit you!).

New Carbs for my baby
Now how did I miss those carbs? I've been keeping an eye out for a tripple set up and didn't even see these. I've been watching these timing sets for a while and just can't bring myself to buy one. Have you received it yet? I just realized that the cam sprocket in the pic is an adjustable one! Is it really?

Rebuilt Trannies for Sale
I wish you had watched it, I could have made a little more money and even delivered it to you. The buyer may flake out, he doesn't sound very convincing yet about coming to get it...he's NW of DFW. They charged me $150 but didn't really have to do anything except pull it apart to make sure there were no problems then put it all back together with all new seals. It was worth it to me to know that this is a solid tranny and I should have no problems after I install it...I don't want to have to pull it back out again.

Moving TX to OR
Thanx for the update Jim, please do keep me posted on what you decide to do. A 32gal parts cleaner...I'm just not getting a mental picture of how big that is. What would you say you could fit into it? Or are you back in Houston yet where you could shoot a pic of it and something else showing scale?

ZX Wheels (8) For Sale cheap!
Those 6-spoke are the ones I was hoping you were talking about! Shipping time is not a concern so the slowest method to save on cost is fine by me. These wheels only weigh 16lbs each so total weight with box and packing material should be well under 70lbs which is most carriers' limit. From past experience the box should end up being something like a 16x16x33 which will be considered an oversized item but still should fit within shipping size restrictions (I have had a set of wheels shipped to me before). Please let me know if you would consider this. My shipping zip is 78613.

Carbs
All very interesting information. Thank you to all who have provided input. Now I suppose that the question would be 'what is the best tripple set up: Webber, Solex, or Mikuni?' This would be for a 3.1L stroker used for autox and weekend driving with a '77 5-speed and an R180 3.9 diff.

headlight relay upgrade harness's for sale
Are you on PayPal yet? I would like to get one of these as quickly as possible as I have just run into some electrical gremlins in my Z and want to eliminate as many problems as possible. EDIT: Sorry about this but I'll have to cancel this request. I just got a call from The Z Clinic (the shop that has my car) and they have already done the headlight relay work as part of their troubleshooting so I no longer have a need for this part. They reworked the tail lights, the dash wiring, and the headlights as mentioned so everything should be in good shape now!
