  1. Thank you every one, I am trying to report this problem to ebay but I am worried about I might not be able to, because the item which I paid for is not my wining bid. As I told before, taaroa477 offered me to sell the wheels for me when the wheels were still active on ebay. I did not make a bid because he said he sells the wheels for me, but I see someone became a wining bidder. The item is http://www.ebay.com/itm/220889331988?item=220889331988&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr taaroa477 still keeps ignoring me, he does not reply for my e-mail since 25th Nov. He said he would ship monday( 28th Nov) but still I have not received yet. I thought taaroa477 has quit ebay, but he has not, he is still doing business with someone according to see the feedbacks recently. kats
  2. Thank you esmit208 and SteveJ, I will try that. I will post this another category which can be seen everybody. kats

Hello, I have been so busy, nothing special for my Zs. I renew my website, the main theme is boosting Mr.Tamura for public. I do not think it is enough to appeal though.. Also my 240Z has got Michelin XWX 205 70 VR 14, as some of you already know this tire is not good driving performance but I really love this tread pattern. kats http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/index.html
  5. Like Arne said, right side of the car is heavy. Especially Export 240Zs have a big battery. I thought L24's intake and exhaust manifolds and carbrators are heavy, but maybe not that much to compare the right side. Z432's S20 engine is right side heavy, all the things installed right side.On the left side, only stainless exhaust manifold and small battery. We are sitting almost in front of the rear tyre, yes(^0^) kats
  6. Thank you All, thank you. I should not say all S30 have same , thank you Alan. I should say in terms of early S30s,I looked up Oct 1969 LHD 240Z parts catalog, Dec 1970 RHD 240Z parts catalog, Mar 1970 Fair lady-Z parts catalog. Springs are all the same except Z432. (for RHD 240Z, there is an option though) Shock absorbers are all the same even Z432. Some point in 1970, changes were made. Mr.Miyazaki( S30 test team, not test crew in the U.S. late 1969) show us some reports, Euro 240Z was finally settled in Mar 1971. The one interesting reports there,it says Apr 1970 : at Yatabe test circuit, Euro version (HLS30Q) project started using HLS30U( US spec) they found bad cross wind stability in high speed cruising Jun 1970 : Euro version was set. It says this suspension set up is same as Z432, same spring rates and same front / rear stabilizer.Shocks are the same of all the S30. At this point, rear spoiler only. Aug 1970 : Above Euro car(s?) was shipped by boat to DATSUN Netherlands Nov 1970 : DATSUN Netherlands tested and reported feed backs. They said "The side wind stability is Very Bad. This is caused by the following points" 1,The center of gravity is a bit too high 2,Too much body roll caused by bad shock absorber 3,Roll bars in front and rear are too light After this reports, the team took immediate action.First, they took a rally car Monte spec, then tested. to be continued. kats
  7. Hello, I have a question, I looked up earliest parts catalogs both LHD and RHD, springs are exactly same for both.(except Z432,of course this car is RHD only) I thought the reason of front springs are different right side and left side because of the driver and related systems weight( steering/pedals/guages e.t.c), but seems not. Because of what? I think LHD should have inverted springs right side and left side. All S30 have longer spring on the right side than left side, they become same length when installed. Please see attached picture. Long spring means soft(confortable) ? or stiff ? If it means soft, I can see this is reasonable for RHD cars, but I do not get it for LHD cars. Am I slant little bit to the driver's side when I am in the each car's (LHD and RHD) cockpit? Any thoughts would be appreciate. kats
  8. Hello esprist, This video is nice as you can see rare tail lights, are they speaking German or French? I think a red one is a Vintage Z program, a silver one is an Euro as it has orange reverse lights. Also I saw this orange reverse light on restored French 240Z. http://datsunz.online.fr/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17:240z-bleue-comme-neuve&catid=7:cars-for-sale&Itemid=35 kats

What a great story, 240ZGL , you have got an early original in the U.S.A. Congratulations! Hello Fred, thank you very much, how are you doing? I know your attic contains lots of tresures which are hard to come by. kats PS: attached photos are PS30-00087, restored in the same shop two years ago where my Z432 had.She is a sister of my Z432(PS30-00088) she was a silver, but now turned white. She has got an original early rear spoiler.

Thank you 240ZGL, Yours also looks great, seems to me it is an early one? My understandings is the aftermarket spoiler which we can buy in the U.S.A. is a bit bigger than the original. Yours looks like exact original. kats

Hi Bryan, I used this paint can bought from a local auto shop. It says Dark grey metalic for 1985or later.Safari , Cedlic, e.t.c. I want to have fun, for me it does not matter original color or not as long as the spoiler is original. kats

Thank you, Yesterday I replaced a grill of Z432,did you notice my Z432 had been with a later front grill? Please see these two grills, expanded metal grill is different of its size. Later grill can be count 8 rectangles in vertical while early grill can be count 11. Now I am happy with it, I painted it by myself. Enjoy pictures! kats

Hi,Thank you everyone,I did restored the spoiler.I am not happy with its finish, I should work hard for sanding and painting. But currently this is my best,do not look it closely!I used a heat gun to be flexible the portion of it where should be straighten. Also I put FRP liquid and cloth to fill the gap between body panel and the spoiler. And for reinforce the spoiler.Color is not matching for the original, but I am OK.Please note 3 holes for the emblem on the back, they are a good sign of original early one.The earliest spoiler has only one emblem " Fairlady Z" . These holes are exactly correct locations and dot size.Compare the official photo of Z432-R, you will see mine has the same location of the emblem. I looked into holes from inside of the spoiler, there are no evidence of repairing or filling extra holes. kats

Hi, The best example of the color is the official photo and the parts which have been kept in the shelf. As Chris posted #10, pictures of less teeth caps are the gift from Mr.Matsuo in 2003. The picture was taken soon after I back home and opened from the paper cover. Mr.Matsuo bought a S30S(Fairlady-Z,standard model) in late 1970 (actually he had placed an order much earlier) and he bought this caps, fog lamps, auto antenna, e.t.c.But he did not installed caps, they had been in a stowage almost 35 years. I think ZCCA judges can tell the difference, the color and rim.Less teeth is more curved on the rim, more teeth is darker grey. Please see the green S30S, this car must be very early production(this picture from the car magazine issued Dec 1969) and it has later(more teeth) valve position. So, not always valve position tells early or late. I think when the car is judged without take off the caps, we can see the caps are early or late using a method of color and rim. kats

Hi, My Z432 has an genuine option rear spoiler. But it is not periodically correct one. The one is for 1971 or later. Last month I have got a genuine earliest spoiler from Mr.Terashima. He is a hard core enthusiast , he has 2 Z432s and 1 Z432R. The earliest spoiler is a very, very rare to see.We sometimes see the ones but they are usually reproduction one.It is easy to distinguish, repro one does not have correct stud bolts nor brackets. Also we can see it from the outside, the 2 vertical ribs on the top face is a kind of short, lack of its length. My earliest spoiler needs to be restored,I want to do it myself. The later spoiler is improved so much in the forming and strength. It became very heavy then bolts went to 6mm from 5mm in the early one. If people do not know much about the earliest spoiler, they will think this one is not genuine option spoiler from Nissan...It is too thin and light and not so good quality of making. However I want original early looks for my 1970 Z432. kats

The earliest hubcap has different color from the later cap. The later cap ( have more efficient tubs) is a bit darker than the earliest cap. I tried both type of caps, I decided installing a set of 4 later caps , a set of 4 early caps are kept in the shelf.I do not want to lose early ones. Do you see the difference in color and valve position... kats

Hi, I have collected 7 original tires. Each tire came from each place. They all flew from the U.S. Thank you so much for all of friends helping me. After the quake, my 240Z is now my home. Today I did some work for my Zs. Two of them are not sufficient for installing, I chose 5 of them. My dream comes true, I have been wating this looks for a long time. Steel wheels, they are 4.5 inches , this is a very important point for the original looks. I really love this old 175 SR 14 tire, I love this shape and I love this tread pattern. None of todays tire can make me happier than this original "Bridgestone Super speed radial-20 175 SR 14" 240Z and Z432,which is my favorite looks? The answer is 240Z with original wheels and caps. I had a good time today:) kats

Thank you everyone, And Chris, thank you for the message from Mr.K. That was a first time for Mr.K in his 100 years of life...We have heard of the quake seems the one in 1000 years period... However Japan has lots of quakes all the time you already know. We knew it but we forgot it.Even nuclear power plant for got it. After the earth quake, still there are lots and lots of people are suffered from the disaster. Not enough foods / gas / rooms to rest e.t.c everywhere around the coast side. Everyday I watch TV news and get tired seeing Fukushima nuclear power plant. But I want to tell all of you, rest of area we are doing fine.Even in Tokyo, people are doing like normal with some inconvenience. I have not spent much time for my Zs, but one thing came to my mind. I posted it at Datsun240Z VS Fairlady-Z432. kats

Thank you everyone, thank you for your kind word. I am fine:) Like Gary said, thank you James, New Zealand too, I hope everyone facing hard situation in those area can resume nromal daily life as soon as possible. Before the quake,I was planing to visit my mothers home with my son where is located near Sendai city-the worst damage area(thank you esprist!). But I flew only me, took 600miles trip from my house. When I hit the quake , I was in a car with my mother, that was so scared.Magnitude 9.0 that was unbelievably shaking everything. But, we are all fine and nothing damaged, just some books and glasses were fallen off from the shelves. 3 nights without electric lighting, but water and gas for cooking were normal,so the meals were normal each day.My elder sister also fine and managed to drive home, we talked about my father (passed away 2005) "he gathered all! " I decided to leave my mothers home with my Datsun, only this car had fuel on a half of its tank, that was very marginal quantity, but I made a decision. No-train, no highway , airport was gone, no gas station, only one choice was took the car for EVAC. I had been monitoring radio everyday ,I found the best route to drive, west coast of Japan sea area has not damaged, if my Datsun runs good fuel consumption, I could reach the area, and she did! I found a gas station before running out on fuel, and good highways for all the way home ,I took almost 24hours driving from my mother's home to my home. I thank you my Datsun 240Z, that was a great run.She runs always smooth and reliable. As you see on my web page, there are some pictures of my 240Z in snow condition, that was I had parked the 240Z at my mother's home.Almost 5 years I had visited and taken for a ride at mother's home once a month. Now 2 Zcars(240Z and Z432) are sitting on my home side by side. Best Regards, kats

Thank you Ron, I thought they can not be interchangeable, I was wrong.Thank you Ron:) I have tried a earlier clock with a earlier box and a later box.The later box did not do anything ,that was just because the later box was completely dead, now I understand. In Japan I sent the dead later box to a repair shop, the shop lives up with its skill for long time. But the shop could not repair the later box. kats
