He may not be French Canadian anyway, aye? He's quick too!
  2. That's what I did on my '77, no grease fittings either. I used a wooden paint stirrer to pack it down in the "teeth" and turned back and fourth. I thought I had found a hole for a zerk fitting but it was a plastic plug thing I never figured out.

I was hoping for a "touche" from my Canadian friend.

Try running the pump into a gas can, you could have debris all the way up to the fuel filter. If you do end up replacing it then yes you should run it through the fuel dampener.

It's Free!!! There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey. John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

I can get a good deal on wheels and tires if I use their credit program. Has anybody done this? is there any hidden fees? I can pay it off within the 6 months allowed. Thanks for any replies.
  9. I found the answer from MSA, thanks anyway. Description: These popular 16x7 Konig Rewind wheel kits look awesome in Graphite with a polished lip. The kit includes four wheels, chrome lug nuts, valve stems, and center caps. They will fit 70-85 4 Lug Z & ZX. For most Z's, the maximum tire size for these wheels is 205/55/16.
  10. What size wheel and tire did you go with? I got approved for their 6 months same as cash and the $50 rebate ends this month so I'm about to get a set. I think Mr. Arnett has a 16x7 with 205/55s without any rubbing and was curious if that might be what you had? They look really good. Thanks
  11. I replaced mine with Hyper Flex polyurethane. It wasn't too bad with this Tech Tip for reference, thanks Blue. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/moustache/index.html

Yeah they call me a "Feeder" when I tell somebody the spark plug gap instead of download this and download that and read until your eyes bleed. I thought that was the whole reason for a forum, support and interaction amongst people with the same interest. I like helping people, whether it's helping someone change a tire on the side of a busy street or push a broken down car out of the intersection, or God forbid, telling somebody .039-.043 gap size.

'77 to '78 hose changes from valve cover to AAR. It keeps the AAR cleaner.

Have you tried to adjust it? It has a nut on the bottom for adjustment, you'll have to take the clipped on metal cover off first. I can't remember which way I turned mine to get it right though :stupid:.

I can understand your addiction. I bought a '77 and then after reading on this forum about all the fun the 240's were I ended up with 2 Z's in my garage. I enjoy this community of Z lovers as much as the cars themselves. You've found a gold mine at classiczcars.com, very helpful folks here.

Isn't 2200 RPM about where the TPS goes off idle contact to wide open contact? Maybe you got that wet or something? The adjusting 10MM bolt maybe loose? What about if you pull the gas pedal up with your foot?, will it go down? A spring on your throttle linkage may have come off. Is your BCDD still on? Mine was out of adjustment when I bought it and would hang on a high RPM for a few seconds then fall back down. Another thing Wick Humble mentions on page 194 is the connections between the EGR and the intake come uncoupled and cause a huge vacuum leak on '77's, mine did it and rotted out a hole in the aluminium intake. Take a mirror and look under the intake to see if anything looks peculiar, at the back, around #6. Maybe the wire spark arrester in your PCV hose off the valve cover is mucked up? Good luck. A new game to play, how many blue words can you get in a post?

My side markers quit working too. I took the lenses off and cleaned the sockets with sand paper and spray electrical cleaner. Now you could see them from an airplane.
  24. I couldn't figure all the switching for mine before I replaced the old pump. Took about 12 ft. of speaker wire and straight wired it to the battery and ran a hose from the hardline before the front fuel filter, in the engine bay, into a gas can. Have a hose pipe turned on or a fire extinguisher nearby and be sure the hose is secure in the gas can or it'll blow out 50psi without going through the regulator. Be safe.
  25. I'd store them somewhere. You might sale the car one day.
