L28+(maxima)47 build
FI? Programmable I suppose. Works good on race bikes and boats.

L28+(maxima)47 build
Thank you Steve for explaining, I'm intrigued as well. It has less CCs than the E31 I'm working with now. I have an F54 with new .030" over dished pistons. I think the MN47 would make a nice lid for it.

So in your opinion an MN47 is a better choice than a P79? I've got the P79 already and now I'm thinking I want the MN47. It wouldn't need the cutting or the tower shims, right? Thanks, Cliff

No spark
You don't have a hood? What's the crud splattered under the ballast resistor?

Issues swapping E88 head with N47 head? (L24 bottom)
Theres 2 of the MN47s at a local junkyard. Are they less work than cutting and shimming my p79? Sorry for not making another thread.

I was talking to my Dad last night and he said they used to run the piston down 2 or 3 inches then pack the rest of the cylinder with axle grease before tapping out broken head bolts. Same as shaving cream. Here's some good pictures of a factory notch from a Skyline. N47 or MN47 will slightly hit the cylinder wall.

Or, fill the bore with shaving cream. Then wipe it clean with gas.

A Project Is Brewing...
Everything I've read lately tells me I need an electric pump. The mechanical ones play out above 5,000 RPM but Dizeased (Guy) says all his run fine with the mechanical pump. I'll stick with the mechanical through break-in and just see how it does after I can run it up. A fellow member with the cam I'll be using says his float chambers can't refill fast enough after 5,000 and our cam's peak is 6,600. Decisions, decisions.

Here's where the valves just barely hit the bore. Here's how to fix the problem. But I'm rebuilding so if you want the cheapest way out I'd take the E88 to a machine shop and see how bad it is. Maybe cheaper to fix the E88? Probably needs new valve seats.

Hello and Please Help me with my 280Z
My dash lights went out and I flipped the plates over in the combo switch to fix them. Here's what I went by; http://www.kamikazeracing.org/dl/ZTech/Rebuild_240Z_combo_switch.pdf I would recommend cleaning all your electrical grounds and connection. If you don't have a good ground the parts will get hot and fail. Here's some help, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/electricalconnections/index.html More of the same, http://atlanticz.ca/index.php/tech-tips.html

L24 Rebuild -Again!
rosso means red. Heavy red? What seal are you using? I have a Nissan one but no sides came with it. I guess I'll reuse what was there. BTW, looking good!!!

joke of the day
A little boy was walking his dog after church one sunny day. An older lady says "my, my what a cute little boy and puppy dog! What's your puppy dog's name little boy?" He said "Porky". She asked "why do you call your cute little puppy dog Porky, sonny?" He says "cause he likes to screw pigs"

I've been thinking those pigs were in my head, but you see them too.

Intermittent Loss Of Power-1972 240Z Stock
Are the pistons rising and falling the same? Mine weren't and I loosened the screws holding the dome down until they were then retightened them. No needle bind anymore.

BRE Rear Spoiler Install
Mine didn't have the outside studs, 4 inside the hatch was all. It was a cheaper dealer installed spoiler. I took them off to be painted, bad mistake. Putting the rear back on was a huge PITA! EDIT, I read it. I like your's a lot better than mine, maybe I'll get one? It has the flat spot for the emblems like the 432s. Mine needed a lot of sanding to sit down flat on the sides. Great write up too.

Calling it. Parting out a series 1.
My '72 has a switched power antenna, adjustable heights, original equipment. I've read lower antennas picked up AM stations better. That was the reason it wasn't automatic.
