Is the afm plugged in good and the ground wire tight on the bottom mount?

New Fuel Tank
Nope. Looks like the one Autozone has. When I bought my Bosch a few years ago they were getting scarce. It was around $250 then. I just saw a new Nissan one on ebay for $260. Here's the one off atlanticz And the inlet screen filter

[2015] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Yesterday I learned what it means to "lap valves". It means sit down in front of the A/C, drink beer and turn a suction cup on a handle. Easier than putting air in the tires. I'm really enjoying working on and learning about these cylinder heads. Beats the hell out of dropping gas tanks.

New Fuel Tank
Did you ever put a clear fuel filter between the tank and fuel pump? It would get full of crud quick and you could see what it looks like. You could have a clogged port somewhere or the liner didnt cure and is stopping something up. A good injector IMHO is the Standard FJ 707T. I put six on my car for cheaper than cleaning the originals.

Question
When you have a little time here's a great site that has tons of information on the Zs history. http://zhome.com/ You may find your car on the Z car registers. I just looked and I think you do have the 00932. The 30,000s started around May of '71. Great find! Uh, one more thing, PICTURES, and welcome to ClassicZcars.

Hey Mike. That's the Memphis Hilton's lobby area. The 370Z with Louis Armstrong blowing the horn was set up on the way to the banquet room. Those others are the bar area where we had our "CZCC mandatory meetings" at night. 8)

If you're pressure is zero in the mornings something other than what we've been discussing is suspect, in my opinion. You could have a bad fuel pressure regulator dumping the excess through the return to the tank. What about clamping off the return after running your car and see if the pressure stays up? That would make first start up way better, the pressure already being in the system. You could have a leaky fuel injector letting the pressure leave out. Try tapping them with a screwdriver handle. It could knock the debris loose that's keeping it from sealing up. Just ideas.

My Datsun 240Z
Looks good! It has the later styled spray bar like I'll be using on mine, or at least I think it's a later style. My E88s have the one with the big Phillips head screws bolts in them. The one I have like your's came off a N47 that had a drilled cam and the spray bar. 9/'76 build date, early '77 on the paperwork.
