  1. That's good thinking Zed! Mine went out on my 240 and it did lose rpms when applying the brakes. The pedal was a lot harder like a really old truck my dad had, no power brakes.

Or you could put a couple of zip ties around the rubber and position the square part of the zip tie on the face of the pedal. I did that to hold the worn rubber on my pickups clutch pedal and got that as a surprise result. I can post I picture tomorrow for you to see what I'm talking about. Cheap fix!

We called it "grip tape" in my skateboarding days but now I'll say stair or step non-slip tape. Sandpaper like with sticky adhesive on back. You've seen it at restaurants on their steps. Probably get it at Lowes? That's all I can think of.

Maybe you can expand on that a little more? It would help in figuring out your problem.
  5. I love a Z but I drive a Camry everyday, maybe it's time you get a good daily driver and just drive the Z on Sundays. You seem hellbent on driving your car in traffic jams knowing it's going to stall. Persistence is a great attribute but sometimes you have to realize it's not going to work, no matter what you do.
  6. When I adjust the air flow or balance the airflow I turn screws #10 in this diagram, it DOES effect the idle, but I honestly can't remember if tightening them raises or lowers the idle. I would think tighter decreases airflow and lowers the idle, it's been awhile since I've gotten to play with mine since my motor has been on a stand for 6 months.
  7. He bought a refurbished set from Ztherapy, they should be SMs.
  8. Are you connecting the vacuum gauge to the brake booster or to the balance tube's bung like the picture I posted? It should pull some vacuum if you connect it to the balance tube behind the rear carb like the picture.
  9. The carbs are worth $300 as a core charge at Ztherapy, IIRC.

Silk shirts are all the rage now thanks to El Chapo.
  11. "guessing isn't solving anything" we've been telling you that for two years. I guess you're not taking our help seriously.
  12. I've told you wrong. Below the two front spark plugs is where you'll find the head number. Sorry.
  13. I don't think you'll find a cap with brass contacts, mine are all aluminum looking, but the rotor buttons are brass. And they came from O'reillys or Advance like Zed Head says. They won't have them on their shelves but can get them overnight. Get some NGK plug wires and plugs when you can. Tons of information to be found on here but get ready to read through it all. Welcome to the forum, let's see that ZX! There's a great group of guys from Georgia on here.
  14. I got lucky and found one local to me for $350, no transmission. You should look above and in between the front 2 spark plugs and see what numbers are stamped on the head. Should be E88 or if you're lucky E31. It has the smog stuff still attached to the exhaust manifold so I'd guess it's out of a 1973, but it has the more desireable "3 screw round tops" carburetors from an earlier car, I believe. Probably has an E88 head. It would sell for $500 around my area but maybe more in Las Vegas? We have a member or two from there, maybe they'll see your post and be more help. Good luck!

How do we do that and how do we get to "More Reply Options" to cancel a post? Thanks for any guidance.

It's a boy! Maybe I'll paint a few more things black?
  18. You are absolutely right.
  19. Wow, that was a serious wreck. I hope your wife is okay now. Cliff
  20. Well I feel a lot better and dumber after reading that. I pulled that cover the other day for nothing. 8 ( Thank you Zed Head. Lesson learned, the right lesson this time.
  21. Could it be the tranny insulator's rubber is worn or gone completely? When accelerating or decelerating the transmission could be banging around. Just a thought. I bought a new one from Nissan the other day, $65 plus tax. P/N # 11320-N3000
  22. There is definitely a difference in a 2.4 timing kit and a 2.8! All the parts stores show different part numbers for a reason I haven't figured out yet, but I will. I put a kit for a ZX on my 2.4, didn't compare the parts and threw them away before installing the new one I got with a car I bought a few years ago. Every time I turn the motor the shiny link moves to a different spot. The first time I noticed I pulled the front cover and reinstalled the chain on the right sprocket dimples. Today it has done the same thing. I'll be buying one for a 2.4. tomorrow. I'll read up and find the height differences between the block and the head. This sucks but lesson learned!

I thought Clemson was the better team until the last of the fourth quarter. Y'all have one heck of a quarterback! They played hard until the last second, congratulations for a fantastic season! I'll share my Saban experience when I get to my laptop.

Is probably what you think when you see this but DAMN what a game it was. Alabama 45, Clemson 40, not enough to too much.
