'71 with IMSA kit and more...
Zvoiture i am sorry for makeing comments about your Z31. I always make fun of them. Well tonight i just got to drive a 85 300ZX turbo. My friend picked up a really well runing one today, his first Z for $1200(I call it a Z now.) It seems mechanically soud, good exterior, but the interior is not in that great of shape. The car was plenty fast and very fun to drive. It is different than the early Z's by a long shot, but not bad at all. I think it kinda felt like a 280ZX with rabies!

I think you'll like them 205/60R14 cause they will look close to stock, and i think that is what u want. My 215/60R14 look pretty wide from behind the car, i don't know if you will like that. My 280z has 215/60 R14 and they don't look as wide as on my 240z, they kinda look stock.

what is it with me and blue Zs? I've always thought a nice set of slotted mags look good on silver Zs!

I have always liked the look of wider tires and I am biased towards them. However that is probably the method I'll use on the 240z But on my 280z which i plan to keep looking the way it is..(at least when it comes to tire size)(not the stock p185s either, the P215's siut me as a wide tire fanatic) I probably am going to put my either my slotted mags on there or look for some other mags. I know what they look like but I don't know what they are called. Anyway for the stock wheel well look I definitely prefer a lots of vintage mags over the panasports. I'm after rereading my message i don't think i've helped much OH NO! what am I gonna do when I am looking for wheels for my 280 :surprised

Weber 32/36 DGV-5A
The previous owner of my car installed them to replace the troublesome 73 SUs. If i would of made the decision to replace the SUs i woulda put triple webers. If your gonna modify your car you want 40mm or 45mm carbs. check out zcarperformance.com MSA and i'm sure there is more Z vendors out there that sell 'em> I know I want to add these carbs and thats cause my DGV's don't even cause any trouble.

I didn't pay for them!LOLROFL heck i love that 240z you posted!! When i get panasports, a paint job, and ZG flares like that i'll probably put the slotted mags on my 280z. By the way were those MSA ZG flares i can't get over that blue Z.

I just went to the web site and i really don't have a good shot of the mags if you want i'll try to post a good close up pic later of all four if you wish, but they are all in very similar condition.

Doesn't MSA have center caps with the Z logo in both screw in and snap on. They don't even cost that much, if i remember correctly. I think they are for the slotted mags. I remeber i called once and all they needed to know was the diameter of the hole for the ceter cap.

I have some slotted mags on my parts car. They are in pretty good shape all they need is the snap on caps in the middle. you can see them at http://www.geocities.com/fstr240z/homepage.html just look at the parts car. I got that 280z from a kid didn't know what the car was. He saw my 240z stopped me and told me he had to pay some tickets and said he would sell me the car for $1000. The clutch wasn't working so he thought it had transmisson problems. i bled the clutch and presto. I was looking for another Z so i could begin my resto of my 240. I gave him the money 2 days later after i saw it.

here is a shot of my 240z slotted mags. ( i just went through some water though.) they are 14x6 with 215/60 r14 tires and a shot of my 280z with american raceing rims and same size tires.

I HAVE to have these wheels...
I can see it now..... you step out of you freshly painted hot pink Z31 and make sure you locked up the wheels by inserting the key into the belly button of the bear. Then you can go try to find barbie in her pink corvette, and see if you can keep up with her on the freeway!!

changing wheels tires or both
I have 215/60R14 on both my Zs. They both have 14x6 rims. On my 280z i have american raceing rims. I'll try to post some pics of the 280z, cause i like those better. The slotted mags on my 240z are aftermarket mags but supposely they were dealer installed.

Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
250-275hp with stock internals!! Thats awesome even i want to shoot close to the 300HP mark with my 240z. I'll bet I will have a harder time squeezing out those numbers with a N/A L24. In your opinion if you wanted a nissan I-6 to get around the 300HP mark, do you think it will be way cheaper with the L28T or not much different. I think my friend will like those #'s maybe I can convince him to go that route.

Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
One of my friends wants to V8 his 240z, even though i said i would GIVE him an L24. (works just fine it's just that the 73 SU carbs flood, and he wants to put triple webers anyway) One of my other friends(and cousin) was saying that the V8 would reduce its value. He drives a 78 corvette so I think he's just biased. Hmmmmm......280ZXT engine I wonder what he'll think of that. How powerful can they be? I wonder how much the extraHP would cost? Since he has a good car with no engine or tranny he is looking at options. so if you hear anything about a hi perf engine for sale let me know. As for me I want to Squeeze all the HP I can out of my L24. thanx, ernie H.

Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
Someone told me putting a small block chevy in a good 240z drops it's value as a collectable. I wonder if that will be true. I argued that there will be people out there looking for them(V8 Zs) in the future any how, and some one would probably pay a good price for a good example. i think in the long run the I-6 will be worth more.

Starting to work on 1972 Z
What do you guys think of Top end performance rebuild kit. http://www.zcarperformance.com I am looking at doing a rebuild for my 240z but I am located in South Texas. I was thinking of shipping my L24 to them i will definitly check out jasper though. thanx, Ernie H.
