  1. Paint thinner? That's what motorman7 uses to degrease old parts
  2. The intake studs could be an issue with the factory lift points. I have never had an issue. You could just wrap a chain around the manifold in the rear which would spread the load over more studs. The rear point does the lions share of the work

I would use some foam sheeting from home depot and some clear latex caulk. easily reversible and doesn't interfere with future painting
  4. I would remove both to service one, I'm old and it's much less difficult than under the car

check for cracks near the drain port or porous welds
  6. I have seen that dent on many cars. I suspect it is a factory mod to make the fender fit

Good to see you around Some squealy brakes in there

If it were me I would repair the chimney to factory and then block it off in a reversible manner. At some point in the future it may make monetary sense to reverse these changes
  9. Okay, I am playing around in areas above my pay grade but why not add a rheostat somewhere discretely, maybe behind the glove box to lean it out a little? We know these old parts tend to drift rich over time
  10. $100 USD for 5 here on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Kunzer-7TI06-5-Pieces-Hedgehog-spike/dp/B00HQGEG3I

I am not sure I read all the post closely enough but I recently had to replace a bad cable on my skidsteer. It did a similar thing it ohm'd out and voltage was good, but it wouldn't pass enough current to spin the starter. Point being, check all the connections and make sure the battery is good. Add a jump box or use a know good battery. Try spinning it with the starter with the plugs removed to narrow down the problem
  12. Also loosen the fill plug before draining it! They can be stubborn. Aweful to drain it then not be able to fill it.
  13. I can tell you how that would work out when my wifes in reverse!!!
  14. I realize it might not be enforceable or worth the paper it's written on, but does it exists? I also have no love loss for how business gets done in China. I understand this pretty well. If they made an agreement with the factory to make wheels in an environment where everyone lies, cheats and steals, they should fully expect product to go out the back door. If you're gonna put capital at risk to develop a wheel or product, then you need to have safeguards in place for that money. It takes two to tango... If they have an agreement, then I have more sympathy even if China's laws don't support them.

I dont know quite how Motorman does it. Except he may have them memorized
  16. Even after all this, I have my original question. Did Mspeed have an agreement with the factory that prevented them from selling this wheel through other vendors...
  17. You just need to win that one. They crimped it so it should come uncripped

My first concern isn't crud in the tank if it's been coated. My first concern is you have a stopped up fuel or return line or the tank pick up is clogged with tank sealer

No idea. Would be surprised if its published anywhere. I dont think they really expected the part to be serviced. Maybe you could interpolate a value based on the bolt size and threads

Look in wheees build thread. He did all of that. the results seem excellent
  21. why do you need to cut the head off? I would take a flat head and pry it open

I dont like doing that because you can over fill or underfill the bowls. If you add the baby bottle before the fuel pump it checks the whole system at once
  23. I guess one of the unknowns for US buyers would be whether it was registerable or not. South Carolina is pretty flexible but many other states are not, and even here I'm not sure I could register it. Still an interesting idea though. and guess what???? No rust!! That makes it super unique right there!

I would get a small container that is suitable. Fill it with fuel and feed the carbs out of that. That will help isolate the problem. If it goes away, it's in the tank or supply lines. If it doesn't it's mostly from the fuel filter forward. We'll use a gatorade bottle with some holes in the lid for fuel line. Don't leave fuel in it long term. Some plastics will melt!
