  1. There are sources for the V07 crank but they're not cheap at this point. Be prepared head work is very expensive but provides the greatest improvement in these engines. The factory EFI will not adapt to hardly any engine mods. Aftermarket would be required. Do you have to pass SMOG?
  2. I agree, it looks like a mis-stamped "1"
  3. I would say rust and no coolant. Thats what happens when you dont run coolant which has corrosion inhibitors. Clean it out and run it
  4. I think it is always a good idea to post up resources for the community. That way we can support those vendors that help keep these cars on the road.

This yard has a lot of really old cars. All kinds. I get a better price pulling parts. The ZX tranny I'm redoing came from there. He also had an L20b I was gonna get but pulling it would have been a pain!
  6. Also, I believe it needs to be in neutral

This yard near me wants 2-300 and I would have to pull it.

What did you have to give for a maxima head? I have one local but I think he wants too much
  9. 5$ a month would probably do it. I don't ever see any of these ads... The price of an overpriced coffee, maybe less!
  10. Who did you send it to and where exactly?
  11. The spots welds are not uniformly spaced. A good light helps find the dimples where the spot welds are. A putty knife will also show where they are
  12. Pretty car! Will be interesting to see what a 6500 mile 79 ZX brings
  13. If you pay careful attention when drilling, you can tell when you have drilled through the first layer. Sometimes there will be a dark little rust line between sheets. Yeah, don't drill all the way through if possible. ⅜ should be fine. Sometimes I use a putty knife or a painters 5 way tool to finish separating layers

So you are missing the thick bent brackets. Do you have a torch and a way to shape them? I can probably provide dimensions
  15. Its 5 o'clock somewhere!

  18. Nantahala Too funny! That waters cold too
  19. So how does fresh water rinse work? Do you have a fresh water line coming to the unit and a nozzle inside or are you picking clear water up from a tank on the unit? A lot of the units Ive seen seem to have an on board fresh water supply
  20. I would take an open title to mean he has the title signed by somebody else and he has never registered it. Bought it and is flipping it with out registering it?
  21. Clean garage!!! What the heck is that???
  22. If they did a thorough job you wont be able to find any original color. Up high behind the dash on the firewall would be one of my first places to look

Cody made a puller today. The OTC bearing splitter has 5/8-18 threaded holes. I went by our local fastener supply and got a section of hardened rod and some nuts and washer and a piece of flat stock from Depot. It will pull to 20"s depth... We used a center arbor from another puller that was 5/8-18 too.
  24. Nope, Nissan can't tell you to the best of my knowledge. Best chance is to look for areas that were missed when stripped

I agree. I will stay involved. You just need a huge surge to make a difference a person here or there isn't going to do it
