BCDD Rebuild Parts
I'm curious on the "whole host of issues".....what were/are they? I wish I had an extra BCDD laying around. I too have often wondered about that "mysterious" gadget hiding under the throttle body. I know what it does, just have always wanted to crack it open. There has to be something available out there as a replacement for the diaphragms. Probably not a direct replacement but a close replacement. It helps that the BCDD is adjustable. I'm going to talk to my buddy that is a mechanic to see if he has an extra BCDD laying around and would be willing to open it up. Capt. Obvious, what made you start looking at the BCDD in the first place?

My idle drops
So did this happen after the AFM adjustment?

My idle drops
If the "BCDD" is at fault...there is an adjustment. It is in the FSM. It's my understanding that it is there to help reduce HC's. When coasting, mainly to a stop, from about 25 mph your throttle should "hang up" before dropping to it's factory setting. Mine does. Mine even has more hang time if I'm driving or braking harder than usual. That's when the BCDD is working.

What Willoughby said....make sure you have good vacuum to it and a clean/tight bullet connector. I'm assuming this just started happening and the car ran fine before?

Wolf Creek Racing - Mikuni 40's
Cool, just as I thought. This would be great for me if I could make it work. California smog laws are tough! This would help me dial it in to pass!

Mitchell, were did you buy your air fuel gauge? And did you have to install an O2 sensor? I'm trying to figure out an inexpensive way to fine tune my EFI. Bob

holley 4 barrel question
azkyinc, post how you make out with the 4 barrel setup. I'm curious. It's nice to have people to run your ideas by. People that are willing to post ideas and info regarding your situation. I'd rather hear something that might be able to help me, give me something to think about, than to receive no help at all. All too many times I see people post nothing regarding the members question(s) like one post above. Keep us posted on your progress. My buddy in Vegas is trying to talk me into the arizonazcar setup. It is what he is running and is happy with it. I'm not convinced it's the right thing to do yet.

holley 4 barrel question
No that's not a carb problem....maybe linkage? Get the 390 on it and see how it does.

Bill introduced in Calif. to change smog exempt to '80
Oh my! I hope it passes. That would be wonderful!

holley 4 barrel question
Not a 100% sure but I believe my buddy in Vegas runs the arizona holley carb setup and he said you can only run with a 390 cfm max. Stock 260 engine. You didn't say what Z you own either. You need to supply more info about the engine also....stock, 240, 260, 280, etc, etc. You may want to check arizonazcar.com also.

leaky injector question
You might want to get them as soon as you can. I bought a set after asking Fastwomen about them.....haven't installed them yet but, the guy who is selling them told me he is almost out of them and his supplier is steadily raising his prices. If you get them and install them right away post what you think of them.

Please allow me to explain last weeks thread.
Ahh, I knew you weren't leaving Dave. Glad things worked out!

Suspension is next future planning
I just noticed, grantf, that cozye said he would recommend the eibach's and kyb's....post #12. So I think I will do it. I have eibachs on the car right now so I will just order the kyb's and install them. The site you posted above is the same site I looked at 2 nights ago. I think it's a good price too.

Which struts?
Yeah, I see your thread too. I'm looking at the GR-2 / Excel-G ones. But I thought I heard somewhere that you have to use specific struts for lowered cars. I use the Eibach progressive springs and it lowered my Z 1". But I can't find any info to confirm this. I'll post if I find any info grantf. I know when I installed these springs (1997) that I used kYB's. But don't remember which ones.

I believe they are the same as the GR-2's.

Do people notice you in your classic Z on the road?
I don't drive mine much anymore, 1500 miles a year, but when I do I usually get alot of attention. Some wanted, some not. The not is when these young a** kids (no offense to anyone in this club) with their fast subaru's, mitsubishi's, hondas, etc. want to race! I wish I could race them sometimes and kick their butts! but we all know the stock 280's aren't that fast. The good ones say "wow that looks nice", what year is it? etc, etc. It does get alot of attention. Especially when I drive it down the PCH. I have made friends driving mine around. Have a great day everyone.

What are they worth?
It's hard enough to believe the one, but two of them..........?!

Suspension is next future planning
Hey cozye, I need to do some more modifying on the rear of my Z around where the "park bench" used to be. I'm going to order a 240 style bumper (new one) that fits better than what I have. Can you shoot any pics of the rear of your Z? Thanks. Sweet looking Z BTW!

Which struts?
I'm running eibach progressive rate springs on my 77 280. Need to replace the struts. Will the KYB GR-2's work with the lower springs? What would you recommend?
