  1. Yes I did the adjustment. It did idle higher but still rough. It idled right after installing the original one back on. Again, I am more curious about the operation than anything. It is a good alternative if it works. Just not the one I bought for some reason.

    Looks like a 280zx distributor.
  3. Yes please do as mine did NOT work for me as you see in my post's. I even took it apart and found nothing wrong with. Threw my original back on and it's working fine right now. But would like an alternative one that works next to perfect. Where did you find it for $29?

Hey Philip, I sent you a PM...
  6. Okay got it in yesterday. First thing I did was open it up for a peek. Same principle as the stock one. Except for operation. When I had it open I saw a very clean AAR interior. So I put it back together and installed it on my car and started it up (cold engine). She idled about 900 rpms (400 less than stock one) and within 2 minutes I was shutting down the car. It was running very rich. The car was cold when I installed it. I re-installed my stock one and she ran the way she is supposed to (1200-1300 rpm's). So this requires a little more looking into. I did get it used off ebay. But from a reliable source. Just my 2 cents.
  7. So there was air in the system. 9 out of 10 times thats the culprit. So glad you got it fixed. Enjoy the ride

Beauty is in the eye's of the beholder.
  9. Chas just beat me to my next question. Was getting ready to ask how old it was. In your first post I assumed you replaced it until you verified in post #4 it was not. Post what fixes it gacksen.
  10. I just checked my master to verify things and I get a slight movement in level, and I mean slight. If you are getting the 1/4" like you say then you have air still in the system. Sorry to sound redundant but........
  11. Should be steady that's why I say you still have air in the system. Worse case...bleed everything again. Anything you "cracked open" bleed again. You introduced air into the system somewhere, guaranteed.
  12. Also sounds like you might still have air in the back brakes. Re-bleed those as well. What you are describing is air still trapped in the system.
  13. 1st thing I would do is re-bleed the master / "tandem master". Im not sure why you bled it to begin with unless you replaced that as well. If so, it should have been bench bled. Did you install front calipers, doesnt say in your post if you installed new ones or if these are the old ones. If new or, you had the old ones off, make sure the bleeders are up top of the calipers.
  14. I would make sure the one from rockauto is complete, with module. Not saying it isn't but I would double check. Rockauto has been good to me.
  15. Amazing job Haz! Did you use the gunmetal spray from SEM? Its what I used and then I sprayed them with a satin clear also from SEM. Amazing what a little polish and a buffing wheel will do! Those lenses look awesome! Oh, what was wrong with the precision hatch seal....I need a new one.

Hey Gus, have you done any color sanding and buffing yet? I started sanding the stock hood I have for my Z and its a lot of work! If these things were plentiful I would have scrapped this one because its loaded with little dents and one huge one in the middle near the latch. Not sure how to fix it yet.
  17. Yeah thats the one I ordered, 22660-45P00. Found it used on ebay for $28. Will open it up for a peek. Will clean it if necessary.
  18. I may order one just to check it out....how it performs. Is it really better or not. Curious minds need to know.
  19. Post #6 you state the car has a "big" cam in it. And that it idles rich. Post #14 says you are running stock cam. What am I missing?
  20. And my Z has that "new routing". I believe it was changed in 4/77 and mine is a 5/77. I never have any "clogging" issues or anything interfering with operations. Ah yes, I see Canada now, thanks. Although when I owned a 76 about 18 years ago I had the problem with the throttle blade and AAR fouling, IIRC.
  21. Hmm....I never had to do anything to my AAR. It works perfect, period. Junk yard find was probably 15 years ago so it is original equipment. Besides the fact I have an extra original one in the garage. Thats the one I compared it to when I got it from the junk yard, salvage yard, what ever they are called these days. Thats how I tune my Z...vacuum gauge, and timing light. And my dwell/tach for rpms. Go ahead and brag man. We can use another well rounded mechanic here. Welcome to the club, BTW. As you probably know already its tough to do tuning or performance engine upgrades due to CA emissions laws. Not sure what it is in Oregon, must be lenient there? I am curious on the results of the AAR you have so please post results.
  22. Not sure how it can work "better". I have an original style and it works correctly. Junk yard $2 find. As Capt said, wont work right the way you want to install it.

Sweet! take some video of her running. Must not have smog laws in Idaho?

Okay, I found it. Forgot about Blackdragonauto. They had it.

Anybody now where I might find the "window felt" that attaches to the inside top of the interior door panel? It's the felt that keeps scratches from forming on the inside glass. Thx
