Door panel question
$300 is a great price for those door panels IMO, compared to others.

[2016] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Decided to remove door panels and look at the window regulators and such. At that time I realized that it was time to clean everything up and re-grease things. Unbelievable the amount of, what looked like, white lithium grease build up on everything that didn't need it . Here's the thing; I think it was me . Anyway, I cleaned it all up and used a silicon spray on the lock mechanisms, graphite in the lock tumblers, and white lithium (just a little) on the widow tracks. Talk about effortless to roll down a window now. I love it.

Datsun Parts LLC - gone to the dark side?
Sociopath, by the definition. Now that pretty much sums it up Cliff.

Datsun Parts LLC - gone to the dark side?
^^ Very true! Must be just "overhauling" the engines and not "rebuilding" them? Big difference between the 2. But then again if its torn down and inspected properly excessive damage should be obvious regardless, correct? I can't believe he is still in business really.

Datsun Parts LLC - gone to the dark side?
I feel the same way CO. I don't understand why, with all the engine building "info" available, it can't be done right! Especially for the "L" engines.

If your injector connectors show any corrosion I would recommend replacing them. Its easier than trying to clean them, in my experience. When I did mine I discovered corrosion further down the harness causing me to cut it back some. The connectors I bought came with plenty of wire to make up for it. My 2 cents.

Oil pressure uneven
Interesting and unbelievable! I hope anyone buying from him in the future looks closely at the reviews before making purchases. It sounds like he has a bunch of idiots building his engines.

What a Difference a Day Makes with RedBird
Woohoo, thats great news. Hope we aren't celebrating too early though. Just the pessimistic side of me this morning . Give it a few more miles. However, if it wasn't going to work it should have showed that right away. So now for the optimistic side, looks like your ecu was defective and all is well now. Haha! Love good news!

Just about to start up the engine after 4 yrs
I did have to tune my SU's slightly. Needed more fuel. I assume it was because they were on a 280.

Just about to start up the engine after 4 yrs
Everything looks good to me Chris. Run her and see how she performs over the next couple of days. ZTherapy carbs are sweet aren't they? I ran them on a 280 when I lived in Vegas and loved them.

Your distributor drive alignment looks to be off by about 5% or so, IMHO. That would explain the timing marks being off. Maybe Zed or someone can verify this. Im no expert but I think I'm right. My dizzy info above was for the 280z dizzy Chris. You probably realized that anyway. I forgot about the differences between the 240 & 280 dizzy. What is that in the bottom of the dizzy base in the 3rd pic? Almost looks like a washer of some sort. Something doesn't look right there but I can't put my finger on it.

Helpful tips for removing wiring harnesses-78 280Z
Guess I should add that the main reason I like them is the ease of removal when you need to replace an injector or....... The spring clips make it simple. No hunting around for the original clips if you happen to drop one or one goes flying across the room.

Helpful tips for removing wiring harnesses-78 280Z
My hats off to you for getting the "engine room" harness out! As mentioned above it was a Royal PITA! I did mine 10 years ago and swore never again. There are several injector connectors available and opinions to go along with. I used these and love them. Mouse over image to zoom Have one to sell? Sell now A10B1F1 Wire Harness Connector Repair Kit AFM TPS Fuel Injectors For Datsun 280z I don't buy from ebay often but decided to give these a try and all is good. You'll find something simular if not these.

Haha! Yep. Those termites can really cause some damage. We are about to get it done again at our house. Twice in the past 20 years for this house. There are 2 types, Subterranean and dry wood termites. Drywood eat wood products from the soil up (your house) and the subs eat everything below the soil line. Lost a 17 year old peach tree to these. There are a lot of so called "termite terminators" out here and so far the only thing that, and only kinda, works is the tenting/gassing process. 2500 sq ft house will cost $2000 on average to treat. PITA! Outside of termites RUST is a big issue too. I'm walking distance from the beach and my Z has rust!

I should also add that the conversation I had with this Nissan Mechanic was over 20 years ago. We talked for quite sometime about the Z car. He loved working on them.

Usually you dont have to adjust it but if you buy a remand dizzy you'll have to adjust it. I had to. Not sure if its documented but, a Nissan mechanic told me this was the correct way and it has worked for me twice.

That is exactly the process, CO described above, for adjusting timing. Lock down top adjusting bolt "centered" and use the "underside" bolt to dial in stock timing and then use the R/A to fine tune timing.
