  7. Hi guys, sorry I just saw this post the other day and have some time to reply to it now... Man, if YOU are annoyed at the server going down... imagine how *I* feel about it. Sometimes I don't know what's going on until it's been offline for a few hours (or even a whole day). I normally have a watchdog process running, but, the last few crashes have been hard and nothing works (the OS is actually down). The bummer part of our current server is that we have no method to control the system when it's like this -- I normally walk over to the machine and physically power cycle it. Arne and I have put our heads together and come up with a solution to improve what we can so far. But, I have reason to believe the hard disk might be failing. The GOOD NEWS about this issue is that I have found a brand new, enterprise class, server to replace our existing server. For the past few years our servers have been running on 'hand-me-downs' and donations. While these are nice and low cost, it just caused more grief from a system administration level. Old hardware usually doesn't have features like remote administration or other things to make my life easier. Anyway, our new server is an HP enterprise system with remote power control and a RAID for the operating system. I'll post another announcement about the server specs and the plan to migrate to the new system later. I wanted to reply to let you know that we are aware of the situations with the server downtime. It has been annoying for all of us and we are doing what we can to prevent this issue in the future. We've come a long way from the Pentium 3 machine.. We've also come a long way from a few hundred members and page hits, to 15k members and page hits per day... Just growing pains.... -- Mike

This is got to be one of the best examples of a hijacked thread, ever. And, the flux capacitor in action...
  14. Mike posted a post in a topic in Electrical
Most likely, those wires are for the backup switch on the tranny. A (REAL?) Flux Capacitor for sale (make sure to read the feedback!): http://www.shopneo.co.uk/flux-capacitor-free-shipping--pr-16735.html This guy does replicas: http://www.bfcoulombe.com/index.html Have fun!

True, not sure why I am worried. I'm totally flustered that someone like this can even get into the Senate. By NOT saying the pledge, the guy is pretty much signing his own resignation. Good for us that he's not very smart!

I'm a little disturbed by this. Not sure if it's a scam or what. I haven't been watching TV lately, but, there seems to be a problem with our Senate if we allow people like this to represent the USA. I don't want to get into a huge debate... I simply wanted to know what you guys thought about this. Can someone confirm if this guy really is going to be our next commander-in-chief ? -------- Forwarded message I believe the picture says it all... I had heard about this but a picture is definitely worth 1000 words! God save us!!! Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem. Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)......the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE How in the hell can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief????

Hiya, I moved the thread for you and deleted a few messages to make sure your topic stays going.. Anyway, your troubles are "most likely" electrical. First of all, I'd replace ALL of the fuses in the fusebox. Making sure you find the right AMP ratings for all of them, replace every single one. Next, open up the cowl panel and find the wiper motor wires. Check for voltage using a meter when the switch is turned. If you have power, then your problem is due to a faulty motor. If you do NOT have power, then your problem may be due to a bad switch. I've seen these switches get dirty in the past and it might be a good idea to pull it out to clean some of the contacts. Anyway, just a few ideas for ya to get started.
  18. OMFG.... I can't wait!! Thanks for the links.

    Don't forget the earlier skyline variants also. Ignoring pre-R30 skylines, there's also: R30 - L24E DR30 - FJ20ET R31 - RB20DET NICS R31 - RB30E ....and no doubt a few other obscure variants I've missed. Also don't forget the non turbo and other variants of the later model skylines R32: CA20i, RB20DE, RB25DE, RB20DET, RB26DETT R33: RB25DE, RB25DET, RB26DETT (and there was also a RB20 variant IIRC) R34: ....
