Hey Zs-ondabrain, I want to keep "Old-School" look in my interior & am interested in putting amp(s) behind seat & maybe running I-pod. Is there a way to do this without a head unit? If not, I may opt to put one in glove box. I like the way you made installation flush by using the spare tire well

Thanks for the clarification Rich, no dis taken. Grnsky shouldnt need to do much to make that a 8k car..He did a better job of scouting a a clean one then I did. I was 5 when 240's 1st came out & my uncle had one. Ever since that age I loved 70-73 mostly because of interior (shape of dash over gauges, diamond patterned vinyl & vented buckets). I think I may have to leave work early to sit in mine now.

I would respectfully disagree. With exception of flat tops, the 73' is a fantastic Z. I imagine that whichever model year that each of us have, we hold some bias.

FYI: tinfoil works great for wrapping parts that you don't want over-spray on

Just a thought but, does the choke lever move freely? The center console can easily become cracked underneath where the lever attaches & if choke is on, your car would tend to run really rich

Got car sorted & made it up there about 1215 (Sorry I missed everyone). Saw some 914's & Z cars leaving area but, event was over At least it was nice to let the car stretch her legs on the freeway for a bit.

Thought my Z was ready for a cruise to Rancho Cordova tomorrow with new electric fuel pump. Unfortunately, the car just reproduced same problem as last Sacramento "get-together". No Fuel getting to carbs. Gonna get up early & look for filter or & ?? under car somewhere that could be restricting fuel.

I plan to bring my Z. See you Saturday!

I watched some of Mecum car auction last weekend & a 74 260z went for 12k. Pretty good huh? Even though the TV spokesperson didnt give much respect because is was an automatic (otherwise they all said they really like the early z cars).

I think this car will go for 7k (at least). That is a really nice car. Is there rust or, just chip on bottom of FR quarter panel? I am sure you could arrange another form of payment (cash?) since you are within a short driving distance.

My 73' 240z has a grey/blue air cleaner that does not appear to have been repainted. Has anyone seen this before? I am wondering if may from a later model z. Even the stickers appear to be factory.

I think the price is extreme for the car (e-bay listing) but, a pretty nice car. Would be a good buy for half of what seller is asking.

Any chance that you reversed the fuel lines (in/out) at fuel pump when you hooked it up?

Sounds like fuel pump to me. I would switch to an electric fuel pump

Got up early with my son for the trip to Sac & car has been running great. Only made about a mile & the Z died. Iv'e got some kind of fuel starvation problem. Only runs after priming the float bowls then dies after depleted. Sorry I missed it.

At risk of asking about something that seems like it has been covered many times, I cannot find answers to following questions: 1) WS from a Kia Sportage fits side doors well. Do I need to specify WS from a Sportage 2d? 2) does the Sportage WS also fit rear hatch? 3) Part #'s world be great.

I'm surprised to hear so many say they don't like the diamond inside original 240's. I really like the look & its unique to these cars.
