COVID-19
Just heard a TV commentator point out that one month ago there were only 11 cases of COVID-19 in the USA. One month. Today there are 9,611 deaths, and 336,537 confirmed cases.

My carb knowledge is old Carters and Quadrajets and Kawasaki. Are those DCOE's? I don't even really know what that means. STILL! They have floats, and they might be stuck, and the levels need setting. Another thing that happens is that a float will get a pinhole in it and slowly fill with gasoline. then it doesn't float anymore. It's a sinker. Like SteveJ said, take a look. Might find something simple. I've seen replica carbs used for electronic fuel injection. I think it's the Jenvey system. Found it. The DCOE Heritage system. https://www.jenvey.co.uk/products/#classic-cars

IT's certainly possible. People talk about it a lot. Float levels also. Pasted a Google link below. Wish I had some carbs to work on right now. Send me your carbs and I will rebuild them for free. https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=83qKXs2jMc3S-gTMnKCIDQ&q=weber+stuck+floats&oq=weber+stuck+floats&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzoFCAAQgwE6AggAOgQIABAKOgYIABAWEB46CAgAEBYQChAeOgUIABDNAkomCBcSIjBnNzdnNTZnNjJnNjdnNThnNzNnNjJnNjlnNjdnNzdnNzNKGwgYEhcwZzFnMWcxZzFnMWcxZzFnMWcxZzVnNFCJDVjdJGD1JWgAcAB4AIABUIgB8wiSAQIxOJgBAKABAaoBB2d3cy13aXo&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwiN6erUyNLoAhVNqZ4KHUwOCNEQ4dUDCAk&uact=5

Interesting comparisons of two side-by-side states, one took early action, one didn't. The comparison probably scales up to country-level. Too late but worth considering for future decisions. There will be a push to open things up early. Click on the graphs, there are two.

If the tires have a wider wheel base their arc will be greater. The arc of the turn can also affect what the wheel hits. You could always "cheat" your T/C, Take the inner sleeve out and cut a half inch off. Put it back together and adjust to. Might get you there. Anyway, the reality is your new tires rub. And, tires can have the same specs and still have a different shape. I learned this in the past but the width number is actually the sidewall width, not the tread. I always thought it was tread width but it's not. https://www.tirebuyer.com/education/understanding-tire-sizes-and-types Section width of tire (Example: P 225/45R17 91V) The three digits following the service type prefix (if present) tell us the cross-sectional width of the tire in millimeters. In the example above, the tires width, measured from the widest point of the inner sidewall to the widest point of the outer sidewall when properly mounted, is 225 millimeters.

COVID-19
I'm kind of a numbers guy so I was looking forward to checking the IHME web site to see what the latest projections were. But they missed their last update date of yesterday April 4. They took the notification about April 4's update off and changed it to a vague statement about collecting data. I hate to imagine it but I'm guessing the latest projection was really bad, and/or, as it turns out, that the administration's Coronavirus team might have been using it to make ventilator requirement projections, since the data can be split out by state. From what I read. Now, everyone is saying the the coming week is going to be really bad, death's wise. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/05/pearl-harbor-us-surgeon-general-coronavirus-deaths-donald-trump-white-house-briefing Yesterday this page said that the next update would be April 4. That message is gone and there's no new date set. https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections Take every effort possible to stay out of the hospital and don't send anyone else there.

Here's a good article about the bigger picture. How decisions are being affected. It's well-referenced, full of links throughout. The royal family. It's actually scary to read, looking at who's actually running things over there, and how they got there. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/05/jared-kushner-coronavirus-aid-trump-governors

Virus face shields, masks - ideas and designs
I forgot about the plain old T-shirt. Already fitted to your head and neck. Just use the collar and hang it on your nose. Let the rest sit on your shoulders. Plus, you can wear favorite team colors, stylin'. And, of course, there's the niqab.

Crozier. It goes to the top. The source. "It isn’t clear what role Trump may have played in Crozier’s ouster. Modly told one colleague Wednesday, the day before he announced the move: “Breaking news: Trump wants him fired.”" https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/04/04/trump-wants-him-fired-inside-ouster-capt-brett-crozier/

Virus face shields, masks - ideas and designs
Here is a super simple design that you can make up in a hurry. It's a common wash cloth with two holes punched in it and a piece of string to hang it over your ears. The loops tied in to the string in the back are used to make the final adjustment to get the desired tightness so it doesn't slip. A rubber band would probably work too. Or a piece of stiff wire. Or some old ear pieces from a pair of glasses. I only had string available. It requires some projection of the nose, small noses might have a problem. And smaller skulls will probably want to move the holes in the cloth inward. It's actually pretty comfortable, enough for a trip through the supermarket or other places where people might be. And it fits in your pocket.

Virus face shields, masks - ideas and designs
Here is a link to a very recent story that goes in to great detail about how masks or face shields are effective. Also, the link to the CDC page recommending them. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/apr/04/why-wear-a-mask-may-be-our-best-weapon-to-stop-coronavirus https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fprepare%2Fprevention.html Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel sick. Everyone should wear a cloth face cover when they have to go out in public, for example to the grocery store or to pick up other necessities. Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected. Do NOT use a facemask meant for a healthcare worker. Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others. The cloth face cover is not a substitute for social distancing.

Virus face shields, masks - ideas and designs
All signs are that a mask or face shield or piece of cloth in front of your mouth and nose has a significant effect on stopping the spread of the virus. you can be contagious for a week or more before you realize it, spreading the virus in droplets from your breathing, apparently. Please don't post conspiracy theories or comments about where the masks are going or therpaeutic cures or other things. Just mask or face shield designs, and/or the government guidance on using them. Maybe local guidance also. The focus is on having a mask available and using it to stop the spread to other people. zKars had a nice design for a very good mask over in the COVID-19 thread. Here is a link to his first post.

COVID-19
As seems normal these days there is very little direction even in the directions we're getting. I see a lot of writing around the internet where people are comparing filtration materials then designing masks that don't seal around the edges. I don't think that the FDA has even updated all of their pages, this one still says that masks are not recommended for COVID-19. What a cluster. https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/personal-protective-equipment-infection-control/n95-respirators-and-surgical-masks-face-masks https://www.yahoo.com/news/using-blue-shop-towels-homemade-221911287.html FDA site here - Surgical Masks (Face Masks) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including coronavirus (COVID-19). More FDA wrongness - https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19-frequently-asked-questions "Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others." I don't have fabrication tools handy and Washington, actually the CDC now, is recommending that everyone wear a face covering. The idea, I think, not fully explained in detail by anyone here, is that it keeps droplets from spraying from your mouth or nose, and it keeps other people from spraying droplets in to your mouth or nose. Not so much a filter but a spray shield. I think that a clear face shield would do as well. I haven't made one yet but it looks like I can cut ear holes in the corners of a simple wash cloth, and hang it from my ears. I might run down to Harbor Freight though and pick up a face shield instead. I feel like a bandit just covering the lower half of my face testing the wash cloth concept.

This page stays up to date. The US is already double Spain or Italy in confirmed cases, even with the lack of testing.
