I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a broken wire in the switch.

OEM Weatherstrip $
Finally got the time to replace the door and body side weather strip on my '77 280Z. Fit was very good, the usual hard to close and open door, not making a show car so i am happy. Now those quarter windows, looked in the Wickes book, it does not show what the seal looks like on the quarter window installed on a car, just the parts breakdown. Can the damaged seal be replaced without removing the window? Everything i have tried to fix no mater how careful i am, something else breaks.

Two problems i can't figure out ?
Thanks, i decided to make my own positive cable. I will take the car to a radiator shop and have them take a look at it. The radiator is almost new, my dad replaced it a few years ago and the cap in new. Ran into another problem, the brass post on the starter that the battery cable connects to , is stripped can this be replaced without removing the starter ?

Searched all the local major parts stores and only found the usual lead type with large heads. Almost gave up, but decided to check a small local parts store in the town i work and found these. i will try them out today if the rain holds out

Two problems i can't figure out ?
Hi all, i have two problems i just can't put my finger on to solve, 1. I have an electrical problem, it first raised it's ugly head ( about a year ago ) when i stalled the car at a busy red light, nothing happened when i turned the ignition switch ( like a dead battery ). i did not find anything loose or disconnected, i wiggled the pos and neg cables to the starter and she started right up. No problems until yesterday, same thing at a traffic light on my way to help out my mom, stalled her out and had to do the same thing to get it started. I loosened all connections at starter and battery, sprayed a little wd40 on the connections and tightened everything up. No go, it seems to be the neg cable at the battery is giving me the problem. I did a little test, turned the under hood inspection light on, turned the ignition switch car did not start only click, inspection light went out. Wiggled the neg bat cable and light came on again. i also noticed one time a slight puff of smoke come from the neg terminal of battery. I think i need to replace the cables, but all replacement cables i find only have one wire, mine have two coming out of the terminal. 2. I have a slight leak of antifreeze coming from around my radiator cap. The radiator is only a couple years old and the cap is new.

Had to replace my exhaust on my 77' 280z, the speed shop had all kinds of SS mufflers and tip, lots of $ so i went with a good high flow muffler and angled SS tip.

Removing Intake manifold
My wife bought me a set of Stanley ratchet box end wrenches, this made it easier for me than the standard box end wrench. As everyone stated soak the nuts and bolts with PB Blaster or WD40/ take your time and get the stud kit from MSA :classic:

Installing vinyl interior
I purchased one of these books to help me replace my weatherstrip. I am a more picture person, show me how something comes apart and i can fix it, the pictures are not good and the instructions are more directed to some one that has a very good mechanical background and not the common Joe.

Sorry for any misunderstanding but i didn't order their prepackaged WS kit. Give their CS a callmaybe you will have better luck than i did. I did not need the cowl, windshield, quarter windows or rear hatch at this time. I got WS for the door's first, They were in the worst shape, i did notice that they did come from (Thailand) : (
