  2. I ended up not going to this auction, but now both cars are on craigslist selling out of Bremerton WA. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/5807010350.html https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/5806962892.html

I wish I was closer, I would have to go have a look at that early car.

Just ran across this poster from a junkyard in Klamath Falls OR. Looks like they have a few Z cars there. Some other older cars as well. http://www.ebay.com/sch/elcaco371987/m.html?item=272394475325&hash=item3f6bf9d73d%3Ag%3AHKgAAOSwLF1X7KWf&vxp=mtr&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  5. http://www.courtesyparts.com It is a dealership in Texas that is helpful to us Z folks. I use their search bar to enter part numbers and see if they are available from Nissan. I tried both of the part numbers you listed in the diagram above and both came back 0 results. meaning NLA or never available in the US. Some times part numbers will come back with a price, suggesting it is available from Nissan, then you need a parts person (either at Coutesy or a local dealer) to check stock on the item and they can confirm if it is available. The other response that can come back from the search is "Obsolete", meaning just that. I have had some non US parts come back available and was able to purchase them through my local dealer. A complete Speedo cog for a non US 3.70 ratio 280ZX to compliment my Nissan Maxima R180 diff in 3.70 gearing, mating to a US 280ZX 5 speed I found at a local junk yard. Some other parts hunter had bought the rear Diff and took the speedo cog for his needs. It would have been for a 3.90 anyway. Just saying you never know until you look, and ask........ Good luck on the search.

Okay I got you now, I had not looked far enough South to see the second ad. I too thought it was a nice looking car from the few pictures available. He did say OBO in the Portland Ad so someone should be able to get it for a reasonable price.
  7. Terrapin Z posted a post in a topic in Internet Finds
The original ad did not have the VIN posted, The seller has been changing the ad a lot since I first saw it a few hours ago. My thought was the someone is coaching him as to the value and sale-ability of these cars. He could even be lurking here. The VIN just Popped up in the last 20 minutes, right after my comment. Pictures are different now too.

The ad keep changing, Now the picture with the $8500 on the windshield has been removed. The ad does say it is a manual transmission. If I had the means I would have jumped on it when I first saw the ad. ($8500) Now that the price is going up I would have to pass too. There is a contact phone number. One could call and find out the VIN at least. If I call my internal voices might talk me into making an offer. Right Mark......
  9. Terrapin Z posted a post in a topic in Internet Finds
@Mark Maras you should go check it out for us, I know those Z voices in your head are calling for you to do just that. I just looked again and the price went up to $10,500, although the picture is still up with the window price of $8500.

Nice looking 70, not many pictures. Owned by an 83 year old mother in law. $8500 OBO https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/5774209432.html
  11. I had this posted in the for sale section, but was apparently not clear in my ad as to the fact it was even for sale. Now it is on Ebay and clearly going to sell. Item number 122087117656 if anyone is interested in taking a look. I really had no idea as to how to price this item as it sits. I decided to start low and see where it goes.

I will check them again to see if all the parts are there still. Maybe get some pictures for you. It might be tomorrow before I can get to them. I think I would rather sell them as a complete set rather than part them out. I already have another set as spares for myself. I will keep you posted.

I still have most of it Professor. I saw you were looking for round top carbs, I do have a set of crusty 4 screw ones, and a set of 3 screw that are better. What else were you looking for? I see you are in Washington, where abouts?

Looks like you were correct, the ad is now deleted by the author.
  15. No it doesn't really look to bad at all. it will be interesting to see what it goes for. The ZX on the other hand looks pretty badly smashed, might be good for parts though.
  16. http://www.luckyoldcar.com/2016-fall-classic/ Lots 408 and 510 August 27th, and 28th in Tacoma WA Might go for low dollars considering the condition that they are in.

It was in Kingston. I bought the car. It is now for sale again. Near Centralia. Sorry about the confusion. If it is in your exploration area, you are welcome to come and look at it, or buy it if it makes your fancy.

Zed Head and Mark Maras That Ad was from April, I search all over the place in the NW. Kingston is across the Sound from Edmonds. I live near Centralia. It was 100 miles to go up and see what it was. I was expecting a roach, but found a gem. Did either of you pick up the 72 in Vancouver WA for $600 yesterday? New MSA exhaust and radiator, looked like a rebuilt motor. Bad body and paint. This one : https://goo.gl/photos/pD8sLn4hyzFqpyhP9 I was trying to but could not get there in time. He emailed me last night and said it was sold.

I added some pictures of all the actual VIN stamps per Patcon's comment. I have had good luck in finding decent cars around the PNW. There have been some rusted out ones as well as we are close to the ocean air. Overall I too was surprised as to how many classic cars there are around here, of all makes and models.

Here is a roof donor available for cheap. https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/5715635963.html Looks too far gone for me to pick up, and I am thinking it went through the flood of 2011.

You are correct, and near the license plate. In fact the whole rear valence looks bent under, bumper too. A lot of things to pick apart, but that is what you get for this price range. He says he is willing to negotiate....... I am not a buyer right now, just sharing the post.
