@Yarb The OP has a 70 240Z but with a F54 280 engine. So sort of both. I think he has swapped in a 280 booster and M/C but is having issues. @240z70 They did change the M/C around as to F and R so make sure your lines are correct. The check valve is one way, but it sounds like you had it on correctly with the woosh, of air when disconnecting.

I am pretty sure you would have to drill out new mount holes for the bigger Boosters. I have heard of people using all of those sizes with the Clutch M/C. Are you sure the reaction disc is in place? is can cause some strange pedal / brake function if it has fallen off the plunger.
  3. Of course it is your car and will be your shroud when you find another one. I would suggest you do not cut up another metal one and take the time to put it on whole. It functions better as designed for full coverage. Cutting up a fiberglass one is not as bad, but might look odd. Best of luck on the search and end result.
  4. The pictures do help with the analysis, As CantechZ says it looks like someone has cut it in half.😒 It also looks like you are missing the small guard that sits above the fan attached to the top center of the radiator. You can see it in Cantech's picture as well. Those full shrouds are hard to install, very tight fit. Perhaps that explains the copped off bottom. They do come up for sale from time to time. That's how I found mine, just lucky I guess. I have a fiberglass one as well. With the economy they way it is I see a lot of items for sale, high priced but being offered nonetheless. Keep on the lookout.
  5. Others have mentioned that. @Mike
  6. Post a picture of the top half, and the radiator.
  7. Of course I could be wrong here, but I am pretty sure the 240 metal shroud has always been one piece metal. There were some one piece fiberglass ones sold aftermarket The 260 - 280 was two piece plastic as you stated and show in the picture. That makes me interested to see the upper half you mentioned.

I should have a pair of originals, if you want to lose the fuzz....
  9. Looks functional, well done. I wonder if road vibrations might stress crack the one riser piece. The stock one looks folded up for support. Interesting to tap the EGR block off for booster vacuum.
  10. Your pic's helped me Greg, At least I know what I am looking for in the bottoms of bins. lol It had been bagged with the brake line clips and clamps.
  11. In these pic's it looks like my assumption was incorrect. The lower mount is much higher than those holes on the rail. Perhaps it comes off the brake valve.
  12. Well I don't have one so I can only guess. I think it would wrap the rail in an L fashion. The was another threaded hole on the side too, perhaps a three point mount? Then the two tabs stick out into the bay, to bolt the shield to. IMO
  13. With having two heat shields and two top brackets I thought for sure I would have a lower one. So far I have not been able to find it. Maybe the rust out. There are welded nuts in the frame rail above the tension rod mount. On my 75 the forward one had the brake line clamp. the rearward one is unused.

I've seen a lot of hoard NOS parts come up for sale lately. The prices are indeed high, but every now and then a deal comes along. You have to be on your game to get the good deals. A sign of the times? eBay charges 13% off the total price which includes the shipping and the taxes they charge the buyer, which is rather underhanded. As long as you are in the part right you can still make something off the sale. You do get a larger customer base, and more secure transactions.
  15. She must have dented the fender by now, and is no longer a friend.
  16. The girl on the green car is top pic for me too with 10676 views. The radiator is second with 5000 views, and the Skyline is a close third at 4855. I agree with Site on a good choice, or maybe the reaction disc issue. Something useful at least.
  17. View Advert Dealership Paper Collectables I found these paper documents at the swap meet recently. I don't know if any of you collect these types of things. I have not found too many collectable posts on this forum. I thought they were cool unique items for a Datsun collector. $20 for the 4 pieces shipped, media mail (in the 48 US States), I have a few sets of them. I would ask for friends and family PayPal, as I should't be considered a scammer. If you want the protection of Goods and Services the price will be $22. 18. It even says $19.95 was the old retail and slash reduced to $12.88. I bought two and still came out ahead. No sales tax either which is odd for a WA sale. (At first I had that same thought, Canadian dollars?)
  19. Odd, when I bring up the link it says these are $12.88. ??
  20. wrong post.....
  21. IIRC the 73 part was shorter, because of the EGR set up. Do you have the old one from the 73 to measure? I have two, one is 12.125" the other 12.5" overall.
  22. Sal has nice re-zinc'ed parts, but can be pricy. I have some raw loose linkage pieces but would need measurements to get you the right one. You would then need to clean it up to your liking.
  23. Cant lay it flat. I came up with this custom box.
  24. I have some wiper arms available as long as you aren't looking for show quality.

Thanks for the mention, I don't think I have any loose ones that would be much better. These things are brittle. I have a set of complete lights, even they have a few chips.
